FICFUSA is a film festival and community-based cultural process with thirteen (13) years of experience. Through its Women and Territory approach, the festival understands cinema as a space for gathering, creation, reflection, and social transformation.
Based in Fusagasugá, in the Sumapaz region of Colombia, FICFUSA works to promote cultural decentralization, access to cinema as a cultural right, and the strengthening of social bonds through audiovisual storytelling.
For its 2026 edition, FICFUSA invites filmmakers to submit their works to the following festival categories:
1. Stories of Women – International Feature Films
2. Made by Colombian Women – Short Films directed by women (Colombia)
3. A Short Made Here – Short Films from Cundinamarca (Colombia)
4. A Story Made in the Regions – Short Films from Colombian regions (Colombia)
The main festival event will take place in Fusagasugá from November 11th to 16th, 2026.

FICFUSA 2026 — 13th International Film Festival of Fusagasugá
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
FICFUSA is a film festival and community cultural process with thirteen (13) years of trajectory that, from its Women and Territory perspective, understands cinema as a space for encounter, creation, reflection, and transformation.
The 13th edition will take place from November 11 to 16, 2026, in Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca, Colombia.
The call for entries is open from March 8 to August 8, 2026.
2. PARTICIPATION CATEGORIES
- Stories of Women — National and International Feature Films
This category welcomes cinematic works that address the experiences, memories, challenges, struggles, transformations, and representations of women from multiple narrative and aesthetic perspectives. Films may be directed by people of any gender and from diverse cultural and geographical contexts.
FICFUSA particularly values works that offer critical, sensitive, or innovative perspectives on women’s realities. Films that expand cinematic language and contribute new ways of narrating femininity in the contemporary world are welcome, without imposing a single thematic or narrative approach.
Minimum duration: 45 minutes

- A Short Story — Short Films from Cundinamarca
This category is dedicated to short films shot in the municipalities of the Cundinamarca department, Colombia. Bogotá is not eligible. In the case of animation works, the director must have been born in or currently reside in the department of Cundinamarca.
Special consideration will be given to works that engage with the territories, communities, and cultural contexts of the department. This section seeks to recognize and highlight local audiovisual creation processes, encouraging the participation of artists developing their projects in the region.
Maximum duration: 30 minutes

- Made by Colombian Women — Short Films Directed by Women
Competitive category for Colombian short films directed by women. Open theme.
This category seeks to highlight and promote cinema made by women in Colombia, recognizing the diversity of perspectives, languages, and forms of audiovisual creation emerging in the country. We value the ability to tell stories from both intimate and collective perspectives, expanding ways of seeing and narrating the world from feminine viewpoints.
Maximum duration: 30 minutes

- A Story Made in the Regions — Short Films from Colombian Regions
This category aims to recognize and showcase short films created in the diverse regions of Colombia that tell stories rooted in their territories, communities, and cultural contexts.
We value stories that address themes such as identity, community processes, memory, social and cultural transformation, biodiversity, and the unique dynamics of each territory. Through this category, FICFUSA promotes cultural decentralization and encourages audiovisual creation from local contexts toward broader circulation spaces.
Maximum duration: 30 minutes

3. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
3.1. Submission format: Through the platform Festhome.
3.2. Required materials:
Complete technical sheet
Synopsis (max. 500 characters)
Film stills (minimum 3, 300 dpi)
Director’s photograph
Private screening link (Vimeo or similar) with password
Trailer (optional, recommended)
3.3. language: Works in a language other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.
4. SELECTION PROCESS
4.1. A pre-selection committee will evaluate submitted works based on:
Affinity with the festival’s Women and Territory approach
Narrative and aesthetic quality
4.2. The selection committee’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.
4.3. Results will be published in September 2026 on the festival’s website and official social media.
5. FESTIVAL PARTICIPATION
5.1. Selected works will receive:
- Inclusion in the official festival catalog
- Post-screening audience discussions as spaces for dialogue, encounter, and shared reflection
- The possibility of participating in parallel activities (workshops, meetings)
5.2. No screening fee:
FICFUSA is a community festival operating with limited resources. We do not pay screening fees or exhibition rights for selected works. Participation is voluntary and understood as a cultural exchange and circulation opportunity.
6. RIGHTS AND AUTHORIZATIONS
6.1. By submitting a film, the participant authorizes:
- Free screening during FICFUSA 2026
- Use of excerpts for festival promotion
- Inclusion in the digital catalog and communication materials
- Exhibition in FICFUSA traveling screenings (with prior notification)
6.2. The festival does not acquire commercial exploitation rights to the works.
6.3. The submitter declares that they hold the rights to the work or have explicit authorization from the rights holders.

8. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
