Why Submit to GIFF?

Guaranteed Full House: Thanks to our partnership with Institut Montilivi, we guarantee a vibrant, young, and engaged audience for our main screenings. Your film will be seen, debated, and celebrated.

A Prestigious Stage: Screen your work at the legendary Cinema Truffaut, the sanctuary of independent film in Girona, and walk the same streets that served as the backdrop for HBO’s Game of Thrones.

The "Montilivi" Audience Award: Win a unique accolade voted on by a young, diverse jury, giving you insight into how your storytelling resonates with the audiences of tomorrow.

Girona: A Legendary Cinematic Stage
Girona is more than just a city; it is a living film set that breathes history in every corner. Its breathtaking medieval architecture and the iconic Old Quarter (Barri Vell) captivated Hollywood’s biggest producers, serving as the primary filming location for Season 6 of HBO’s "Game of Thrones."

From the grand stairs of the Girona Cathedral—which witnessed the dramatic scenes of Braavos and King's Landing—to the labyrinthine Jewish Quarter where Arya Stark’s journey unfolded, the city has become a global icon of the silver screen.

Hosting the Girona Indie Film Fest (GIFF) here is a tribute to this audiovisual tradition. Our filmmakers don’t just screen their work; they showcase their vision in a city that has already been validated by the highest standards of international cinema.

Walk the streets where legends were filmed. Screen your vision where history was made.
