We are pleased to announce the call for entries for the 6th edition of IMPACTE! Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia, which will take place:
April 5–11, 2027, Onsite Version in Barcelona,


with partial editions in several Catalan cities at different times of the year.


Online Version on Spanish platforms, on dates to be confirmed, sometime in 2027.
Submission period: August 20 through October 31, 2026.

Films

We are looking for stories that speak out against injustice and human rights violations around the world, films that combine rigorous investigation with narrative and visual treatment capable of impacting the critical thinking of wide audiences. Both in fiction and documentary formats.

We are interested in criticism, but also in struggle, denunciation, defense of rights and, specifically, the proposal of alternatives: common aid, solidarity, cooperation...

The topics are free, but always within the scope of Human Rights -both traditional and of new generation-, global Justice and the culture of Peace.

In this 6th edition, we will dedicate a section to reflecting on war and peace, conflict and agreement, so we look forward to receiving films on these topics.

We will also launch a specific section for NGO productions, so we encourage these organizations to submit videos and films that serve as case studies of their work and their audiovisual communication.

We are especially interested in receiving films addressed to children and young people.

Other topics will not be considered.

Screening Fee Shorts: 50€
Screening Fee Features: 150€

A specialized jury will award two honorary prizes from among the selected feature and medium-length films, while the Short Film Award will be chosen by audience vote during the designated screenings:

IMPACTE! Award to Best Feature Film
IMPACTE! Award to Human Value
IMPACTE! Award to Best Short Film

Each award-winning film will receive a unique trophy, along with a certificate stating the jury’s decision.

All selected films will receive the official IMPACTE! Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia laurel, and each award-winning film will receive the laurel corresponding to its respective award.

Technical requirements

The following formats are accepted:

Fiction feature films, minimum running time of 70 minutes
Documentary feature films, minimum running time of 70 minutes
Documentary and Fiction medium-length films, running time between 31 to 69 minutes
Short films of any genre, between 3 and 30 minutes


Films in competition must have been completed after 01/01/2025 and not have been screened in Catalonia in movie theaters or TV, nor be available for free online. The organization reserves the right to program a film that does not meet these conditions, but it will be out of competition.

Films without a Spanish or Catalan version must have english or Spanish subtitles in order to be eligible for selection. Films with dialogues or voiceovers in english must also be subtitled in one of the two languages.

The Festival will subtitle all non-Spanish speaking films to Catalan for the public screenings.

Films selected must ensure a minimum resolution for screening of Full HD 1920x1080.

Films must be submitted by whoever legally holds their property rights.

In addition to those of exhibition, rights to duplicate video files will be given up in order to supply DCPs for the festival venues and video files for the online version, as well as the rights to edit and use fragments and materials of the film for promotional or advertising purposes.

Films will be submitted through the festival online platforms Festhome according to their respective forms and conditions.

The selected films will fill up a formal agreement with Associació Impacte Cinema i Drets Humans, organizer of IMPACTE! Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia, on the technical and legal details indicated in these rules and others.

The Catalan or Spanish version of the selected films will become part of the archive of the Association for its possible subsequent exhibition in educational, pedagogical, awareness-raising, and promotion of human rights traveling or online screenings in Catalonia, always with the consent of the owner or the owner of the rights.

Whoever submits the films authorizes the data provided in the submission to be incorporated into the database of Associació Impacte Cinema i Drets Humans, organizer of IMPACTE! Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia.

This information will be treated confidentially and in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament on the protection of general data. The owners of personal data may exercise their rights of access, rectification, cancellation, opposition, portability, and final deletion of the information provided to the person or entity responsible for the data processing.
