Insolito Fantastic Film Festival is the only event specialized in genre cinema and consolidated in Peru and is in its sixth edition. Since its creation, the festival has sought to claim unconventional ways of making films, including national and international proposals in its shows and competitions.

Our first five editions received good comments from the public and the press, which renews the commitment of Insólito to show the best genre cinema that has been made worldwide: horror, fantasy, science fiction, exploitation, bizarre and the like.

This edition will have face-to-face format to meet again.

Another journey into the unknown begins, this time with three competitions and two non-competitive shows:

In the International Feature Film Competition, a winner will be designated, who will obtain the Official Laurels of the festival.

In the Peruvian Competition, a winner will be designated, who will obtain the Official Laureles of the festival, in addition to the specialized advice in the development of their next project.

The award ceremony will be held on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023.

CALL 6th INSÓLITO:
INTERNATIONAL FANTASTIC FILM FESTIVAL
LIMA - PERU, 2023

The Insólito Festival has four competitions and two non-competitive sections:

COMPETITION

1. International of Feature Films: to which productions of any world origin, whose duration exceeds 60 minutes, may be applied for. These movies must have been made after 2020.

2. International Short Films: to which films of any worldwide origin may apply, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes. These movies must have been made after 2020.

3. Peruvian Competition: to which national productions may apply regardless of their duration. These movies must have been made after 2020. Free registration.

OUT OF COMPETITION

Peruvian Panorama: includes Peruvian films of any duration, shown in years prior to 2020. Free registration.

InsoliKitos: includes films of any nationality, of any duration, made after 2020, aimed at children and adolescents.


The Insólito Festival, through its programming team, reserves the right to include in any of the different competitions productions that do not meet any of these requirements, in special cases.

The open call, application and reception of works is until July 31, 2023.

The selected films must be sent as MOV, MP4 or H.264 video files in high definition for their exhibition.

In case the spoken language of the film is not Spanish, the viewing copies must have subtitles in Spanish.

If the work is selected, final technical specifications and promotional material requirements will be sent and must be met.

The Insólito Festival, through its programming team, reserves the right to directly call productions that do not meet any of these requirements, in special cases.

Films that use pre-existing images and/or sounds will be accepted at the participant's own risk, as regards original rights with respect to third parties. The directors of the works will be responsible for claims of any nature that third parties may make regarding their contribution to the production, copyright, inclusion, interpreters, etc.

RESULTS

The selected ones will be notified by the production of the Insólito Festival until September 30, 2023. The sending of the projection file or set of files will represent the commitment and assurance of their participation.

The list of selected films will be announced prior to the start of the Insólito Festival, through its website https://insolitofestival.com/ and its social networks on Facebook and Instagram.

The Insólito Festival will take care of the films during and after the duration of this edition, which will take place in person from November 15 to 19 of the current year, taking the necessary security and protection measures for the correct exhibition of the copies.


CONDITIONS

By presenting their works, the participants fully accept the content of these bases and the regulations that, in their development, are issued. Any doubt or gap in these bases will be resolved by the Artistic Direction of the Festival.

All participating films may be elgible to be exhibited in activities carried out by the Festival after the end of its sixth edition for a period of one year, which will be communicated in advance to the filmmakers.
