Festival start: 25 September 2024
Festival end: 28 September 2025
The 2nd ITAICINE – Itaiópolis International Animation Short Film Festival will take place from September 25 to 28, 2025, in the city of Itaiópolis-SC, Brazil.
The ITAICINE program includes screenings of national and international animated films, divided among the Competitive Short Film Section, Special Non-Competitive Showcases of short and feature films, masterclasses, debates, lectures, and workshops.
The main goal of the Festival is to promote, disseminate, and value the production of animated short films, encompassing both national and international works created from 2023 onwards. The festival aims to establish itself as a permanent space for audience development, with a special focus on children, teenagers, and young people, offering an accessible, inclusive, and culturally diverse program.
By encouraging contact with different languages and artistic expressions through animation, ITAICINE seeks to stimulate critical thinking, creativity, and intercultural dialogue, contributing to the formation of new perspectives and sensibilities.
Additionally, the festival is committed to decentralizing access to culture by promoting its activities in Itaiópolis (SC) — a city outside the major urban centers — reaffirming the importance of cultural events in territories often distant from the traditional exhibition and festival circuits.
