Selection Process

Film selection and awards are determined by the programming team of the Jeonju International Short Film Festival and an independent jury.

Filmmakers will be individually notified, and the list of selected films will be announced on the official JISFF website and blog in early September 2026.

Selected films must be screened in the competition section of the 9th JISFF and cannot be withdrawn.

Use of Promotional Materials
JISFF may use up to 20 seconds of selected films for promotional purposes.

Clips may be featured in the festival brochure, on the official website, and in social media promotions.

Screening Format

Screening copies must be in DCP or MOV (ProRes 422) format.

Any other format requires prior approval from JISFF.

All non-Korean language entries must include English or Korean subtitles.

Screening copies must arrive at the JISFF office by September 1, 2026. (Shipping costs are the responsibility of the participant.)

Screening copies will be returned within 4 weeks after the festival ends to the address specified by the filmmaker or distributor. (Return shipping costs will be covered by the festival.)

However, online-submitted screening copies will not be returned.

Additional Screenings

Award-winning films may be invited to additional domestic or international screenings hosted or organized by JISFF.
In such cases, JISFF will consult and obtain permission from the director or distributor.

Agreement and Responsibility

By registering and submitting a film online, participants are deemed to have agreed to all rules and terms of JISFF.

Additional Information

By submitting a film, entrants authorize the festival to screen the work.

Entrants are fully responsible for any copyright issues; violations may result in disqualification.

The festival schedule and screening
platforms are subject to change due to force majeure; JISFF will notify and consult with the relevant parties in such cases.

Any matters not covered in these rules will be decided in consultation between the festival and the submitter.
