MAFIC: “Málaga International Film Festival”: A space for training, business, appreciation, and awards.

It showcases new audiovisual, artistic, and cinematic works and hosts academic laboratories; it serves as a fertile ground for networking, forging partnerships, and developing projects across the regional, national, and international industries.

MAFIC comprises four experiences designed as follows:

REMA: “Málaga Exhibition Route”: Dedicated screening venues throughout the province featuring the latest international, national, and regional audiovisual and cinematic productions.

MAM: “Málaga Audiovisual and Art Marketing”:

Offers opportunities to expand your professional network and gain insight into the regional, national, and international audiovisual market across various artistic fields (cinema, theater, music, design, visual arts, costume design, set decoration, comics, etc.).

LAFAMA: “Málaga Audiovisual Training Laboratories”:

Research and knowledge-sharing laboratories where distinguished and renowned figures present detailed information on film industry topics to general or specialized audiences.

PAM: “MAFIC Actor Awards”:

A range of awards, statuettes, and commemorative plaques presented to investors and artists from the local, national, and international audiovisual community.

Best Debut Film

A single prize for Best Debut Film will be awarded. The producer or production company will receive an amount equal to 50% of the entry fees collected up to August 8th (to be used solely and exclusively for the development of another cinematic audiovisual work). This prize will be paid to the winner via a PayPal account arranged directly with them; the winner will be announced on November 20th, upon the conclusion of the festival's organizational and logistical activities.

Short Film

A single prize will be awarded for Best Short Film, granting the producer an amount equal to 50% of the entry fees collected up to August 8th (to be used solely and exclusively for the development of another cinematic audiovisual work). This amount will be transferred to the winner via a PayPal account agreed upon directly with them. The prize details will be announced on November 20th, at the conclusion of the festival's organizational and logistical activities.

Documentaries:

A single prize will be awarded for Best Documentary, granting the producer or production company an amount equal to 50% of the entry fees collected up to August 08st (to be used solely and exclusively for the development of another cinematic audiovisual work). This amount will be transferred to the winner via a PayPal account agreed upon directly with them. The prize details will be announced on November 20th, at the conclusion of the festival's organizational and logistical activities.

Music Video:

A single prize will be awarded for Best Music Video, granting the producer or production company an amount equal to 50% of the entry fees collected up to August 31st (to be used solely and exclusively for the development of another cinematic audiovisual work). This amount will be transferred to the winner via a PayPal account agreed upon directly with them. The prize details will be announced on November 20th, at the conclusion of the festival's organizational and logistical activities.


Animation:

A single prize will be awarded for Best Animation, granting the producer 50% of the entry fees collected up to August 31st (to be used solely and exclusively for the development of another cinematic audiovisual work). This amount will be transferred to a PayPal account agreed upon directly with the winner. The prize winner will be announced on November 20th, at the conclusion of the festival's organizational and logistical activities.

Feature Films:

A single prize will be awarded for Best Feature Film, granting the producer 50% of the entry fees collected up to August 8th (to be used solely and exclusively for the development of another cinematic audiovisual work). This amount will be transferred to a PayPal account agreed upon directly with the winner. The prize winner will be announced on November 20th, at the conclusion of the festival's organizational and logistical activities.

Scoring:

The jury will be composed of professionals from the national film industry, and the public will have the right to vote via the website. The combined votes will determine the final score for each film.

Submissions from any country and in any category will be accepted. An initial screening process will select a shortlist of films—5, 10, or 20, depending on the category. The selected films will then be analyzed to determine the winners in each category.

Amendments:

(The awarded funds will be disbursed after payment to the Festhome platform, deduction of national taxes, and allocation of the festival organization's share of revenue.)

On November 20th, a final decision determining the winners will be issued... The awarded prize will be delivered, and the method of receiving payment directly for the selected project will be determined.

On October 20, a document will be sent to the email address provided by the winner—to be signed by the film's producer or representative—confirming acceptance of the awarded prize and the intention to allocate the funds to another cinematic work.

On December 30 (one month later), the prize payment will be sent to the email address associated with the winner's PayPal account for each respective category.
