Unlike other festivals that charge separately for each award category, the New York Film Screening Festival (NYFSF) lets you compete in 33 award categories with just one submission fee.

NYFSF is a quarterly international festival designed to give filmmakers maximum exposure and opportunity. We host four online screenings per year and one in-person screening annually in New York City, giving your work the chance to be seen both globally and on the big screen.

Every selected film is introduced on our official social media platforms to help you reach a wider audience and build visibility, no matter where you're based.

Quarterly winners will also be automatically considered for the in-person screening event.

We accept films and animations of all genres and lengths. Whether you're a student, emerging artist, or independent creator, NYFSF is here to help your work get seen and open doors to new opportunities.

Quarterly Deadlines:

First Quarter: June 30, 2025

Second Quarter: September 30, 2025

Third Quarter: December 31, 2025

Fourth Quarter: March 31, 2026

1. All Genres Accepted NYFSF accepts films of all genres and formats, including live action, animation, and experimental works.

2. No Length Restrictions There is no minimum or maximum runtime. Both short and feature-length films are welcome.

3. Original Content Only All submitted works must be original and free of copyright infringement. Any unauthorized use of copyrighted music, footage, or visual elements will lead to disqualification.

4. Sensitive or Mature Content We accept films containing sensitive or mature themes; however, to comply with social media platform policies, NYFSF reserves the right to determine whether such films will be promoted through our public channels.

5. Promotion Rights By submitting, you grant NYFSF permission to use stills, trailers, and excerpts for promotional purposes across our platforms.

6. Non-Refundable Fees Submission fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including withdrawal or disqualification of the film.

7. Minimum Technical Requirements All films must be submitted in a minimum resolution of 1080p HD. Poor quality or low-resolution files may be rejected.
