The Latin American Film Week will take place over five consecutive days, with its official venues at Arthaus and Cine Arte Cacodelphia in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in December 2026.

During the event, special activities will accompany the screenings, including training workshops, forums, and networking opportunities for industry professionals.

Since 2017, we have been creating spaces for dialogue and debate, with a strong focus on building audiences. We believe it is important that our viewers have a great experience at every screening and leave inspired to continue discovering Latin American cinema.

The feature films, medium-length films and short films that win the audience award during the Buenos Aires Latin American Film Week will be presented in the Traveling Showcase.

7TH LATIN AMERICAN FILM WEEK
RULES AND REGULATIONS

01. VENUE AND DATES

Latin American Film Week will take place from December 3 to 6, 2026, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

02. OBJECTIVES

The aim of Latin American Film Week is to promote high-quality audiovisual works made in Latin America, supporting creators whose authorial vision reflects an authentic and committed perspective on their environment. It also seeks to encourage cultural exchange, dialogue, and reflection.

03. SECTIONS

The selection of works will be carried out by the organization.

Latin American Feature Films:
Works over 55 minutes in length, of any genre.
Films not spoken in Spanish must include subtitles in that language.

Medium-Length Films:
Works between 25 and 54 minutes in length.
If not spoken in Spanish, they must include subtitles in that language.

Latin American Short Films:
Works up to 24 minutes in length.
If not spoken in Spanish, they must include subtitles in that language.

Other Latitudes:
Non-Latin American feature films over 50 minutes in length.
They must include Spanish subtitles if the original language is different.

04. ELIGIBILITY OF WORKS

The call is open to works completed between 2024 and 2026.

The following will not be accepted:

Advertisements
News reports
Series
Nature documentaries with a television-style treatment

There are no restrictions regarding subject matter or original language.
For preselection, works must be submitted with Spanish subtitles when applicable.

05. SUBMISSION OF WORKS

Entries must be submitted by those who hold the screening rights, and submission is free of charge for Argentine works.

06. COPYRIGHT

Participants declare that they hold the screening rights to the submitted works.
The organization shall not be held responsible for any possible infringements.

07. SELECTION

The results will be announced on October 16, 2026. Selected films may not be withdrawn.

Selected participants must send:

A screening copy in projection quality
Spanish subtitles, if applicable
3 high-quality stills
Synopsis and technical sheet

They also authorize:

The dissemination of promotional material
The use of up to 3 minutes of the work for promotional purposes

08. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

Submitting an entry implies full acceptance of these rules and regulations.

The organization may make any necessary modifications and shall be solely responsible for their interpretation.
