TAXCO Mexico, light city and Magic Town, one of the most impressive locations in the world, invites you to the 12th EDITION OF TAXCO FILM FEST.

The TAXCO FILM FEST will deliver a Participation Diploma to all those selected in the competitive section, and for the winners will be delivered the "Silver Ring", new symbol of the Festival.

INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION

ANNOUNCEMENT

The TAXCO FILM FEST aims to provide a space for the exhibition of quality cinema, seeking to bring together filmmakers and those who wish to join this group of creators to create synergies. THE XII EDITION OF TAXCO FILM FEST 2027 will be held in the City of Light and Magical Town of Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero.

CATEGORIES IN COMPETITION.

FICTION SHORT FILM
EXPERIMENTAL SHORT FILM
ANIMATION SHORT FILM
DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM.

This edition will only have SHORT FILMS in competition with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, including credits in film, video or digital format, whose production takes place after January 1, 2025.

The movie in HD format (1920 x 1080), .MOV (Apple prores), .mp4 file (MPEG-4). H.264 codec for video.

The film must not contain subtitles in another language, unless the film contains subtitles in Spanish because it is spoken in another language.

EXHIBITION.

The Festival Management will agree on the order and date of exhibition of each work. The submitted works may be selected for out-of-competition samples.

CONDITIONS.

A. Entries must be accompanied by digital viewing copies (screeners).

B. Registration for works from Mexico and other countries which will be deposited through the Festhome registration platforms.

C. There is no registration limit for the number of films per director or production entity.

D. Video clips, commercial works or for political and/or religious propaganda purposes are not accepted.

E. To be admitted, the materials must be presented in Spanish. If the language of production is different from Spanish, it must be sent with subtitles in english or Spanish.

6.- SELECTION AND JURY.

The selection of the works will be the responsibility of the Festival Organization through a jury made up of professionals from the cinematographic field, whose names will be announced in due course. Its ruling will be final.

7.- Prizes.

The TAXCO FILM FEST will present the “Silver Ring” to the winners, an artistic piece made by designer Oscar Figueroa, originally from Taxco, the world capital of silver art.

8.- The deadline for registration and submission of materials is February 7, 2027.

9.- Once sent to the call, the film cannot be withdrawn.

10.- In no case will the rights to display a work be paid.

11.- The selected films are eligible to be part of the festival's traveling exhibitions after the festival. and extension headquarters.
