The VII Curta Lages International Film Festival promotes a broad, plural and international program, holding competitive and non-competitive screenings of short and feature films of all formats and genres.

The Curta Lages Festival is proud of its curation centered on inclusion and diversity, prioritizing works that explore themes linked to issues of gender, racism, ethnic diversity, sustainability and social inclusion. The goal is not only to provide access to these narratives, but also to foster meaningful debates after the screenings. The festival especially values independent productions, recognizing the power of cinema to engage and enrich the local community.

1. REGISTRATION CONDITIONS

1. PERIOD AND PLACE
The VII Curta Lages International Film Festival will be held from August 1st to 10th, 2024, in the cities of Lages, Curitibanos and São Joaquim, with in-person and online screenings.

2. THE TYPE OF THE FESTIVAL
The VII Curta Lages International Film Festival is a competitive and informative festival, in addition to presenting non-competitive exhibitions.

3. REGISTRATIONS AND WORKS
Registration for the VII Curta Lages International Film Festival took place from February 24th to March 31st, 2024, through an online form, the event's official website and on the FESTHOME platform.

Individuals and legal entities with directing and/or production roles in the registered work may register.

Films with a release date from 2020 onwards will be accepted, except for films from Santa Catarina, which remain without restrictions on completion or release date.

Registration for the VII Curta Lages International Film Festival is free.

Except in special cases, authorized by the curators, registrations delivered via physical media or sent via other virtual routes will not be accepted.

Films sent for selection must guarantee the copyright of the images and soundtrack contained in the work to be shown at the Festival and in non-profit public screenings and exempt the organization of the VII Curta Lages International Film Festival from paying any copyrights in the time of display.

Short, medium and feature films, national and international, will be accepted, following the following length; short up to 30 minutes; average up to 60 minutes; long over 70 minutes.

Short films accepted for registration may be of any category or genre: fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, hybrid (doc and fic), collective creation and children's films.

Works that follow the proposed curatorial line and include accessibility mechanisms through Libra, descriptive subtitles or audio description will be privileged.

Films with speeches in languages other than Portuguese must send subtitles in Portuguese (Brazil) through an SRT file.
The files of the registered productions must be sent on the following video sharing platforms: Google Drive, Vimeo or via the FESTHOME platform, with access passwords (if you have one). And informing of changes thereto, if any. Files in high quality MP4, H264 or ProRes format will be accepted.

The selected works will be exhibited publicly and free of charge on the days designated by the Festival, according to a previously prepared calendar, making it clear that the authors or producers of the works, by participating, grant authorization for such exhibitions. The organization may publish printed material about the works to be exhibited. The authors and/or producers of the works also authorize the use of a fragment of the works to be published in any means of promoting the festival.

The Festival will not pay any screening fee to the authors/distributors of the selected films.
Once selected, the film cannot be removed from the competition.

The curators reserve the right to refuse registrations.

The festival's curatorial coordination and programming management reserves the right to disqualify films that have been approved by the curators, even if already announced in the program, and have not completed stages subsequent to qualification,

Upon registration, participants will accept the festival regulations and grant all exhibition rights after selection by the Festival curator.
