Début du Festival: 01 novembre 2026      Fin du Festival: 30 novembre 2026

Do you have a film that can inspire audiences worldwide? A story that sheds light on diverse environmental issues and solutions? If so, BCEFF is the perfect platform for your work!

"All selected films will be screened online throughout November 2026. A special in-person screening of the top nominated films will take place on November 2026, in BC"

At BCEFF, we aim to bridge the gap between the scientific community and the film industry, fostering a culture where films are celebrated for both their artistic value and scientific accuracy. Every year, we bring vital stories to life, exploring the profound connection between humans and the environment through the art of filmmaking.

We welcome films from around the world across diverse genres and subjects, with a strong focus on ecological themes and the broader natural world. Our festival also highlights the social environment, exploring how environmental changes impact communities and ecosystems.

Topics of Interest:
Environmental Threats & Conservation: Films addressing threats to our planet’s ecosystems, endangered species, and species diversity.

Climate & Pollution: Stories about climate change, pollution (air, noise, and light), and efforts to ensure clean air, water, and land.

Geopolitical & Social Issues: The intersection of environmental challenges with geopolitical issues such as overpopulation, energy crises, famine, and war.

Sustainability & Renewable Energy: The depletion of natural resources and the role of alternative or renewable energy sources in shaping a sustainable future.

Solutions & Advocacy: Films that foster hope, present solutions, and serve an educational or advocacy purpose to raise awareness and inspire action.

Children & Environmental Education: Stories crafted to engage and inspire younger audiences with environmental themes in an accessible and impactful way.

We seek compelling narratives that not only shed light on environmental challenges but also inspire positive change, education, and advocacy for a more sustainable world.

"All selected films will be screened online throughout November 2026. A special in-person screening of the top nominated films will take place on November 28, 2026 in Victoria, BC"

Each year we will spotlight a different aspect of our environment and have a special award.
