With its headquarter in Mbombela, the Mpumalanga International Film Festival (MIFF) is strategically located, and easily accessible to filmmakers from all over the world.

Mbombela is the capital city of Mpumalanga and a getaway to the province renowned for its fauna and flora such as the Kruger National Park, Panorama Route, and vibrant townships.
Mpumalanga offers prime locations for any shoot, from television commercials to movies. It also boasts perfect weather and climate conditions as well as solid infrastructure.

Since its inception in 2013, MIFF has provided a platform for filmmakers to showcase their craft in an enabling environment. To date, the festival has shown 139 films of which 89 were international.

The province, being home to the Big Five, Three Rondavels, Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, and world-class infrastructure, including an international airport, is ideally geared and best situated to meet the needs of filmmakers.

In Mpumalanga, Mother Nature and man have combined to ensure filmmakers create perfect moments that last for years.

Mpumalanga International film festival is an annual event showcasing new independent films or recently produced films, high profile and undiscovered talent, established and upcoming filmmakers, student filmmakers, and films from around the world. Festivals normally have two or more screens or venues to showcase films. Accepted filmmakers’ hustle to get their film noticed in the hope of obtaining distribution or favourable media.

Prix ​​en espèces: 50,000€

The prize and award will be based on the amount mentioned below and will be shared in different categories, awards, Bursary, cash, and Production money. up to 50 000USD in prices to be won.

RULES

1- In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.

2- The Festival relationship will exclusively be related to the film submitter.

3- Any Foreign film that is not in English must have English subtitles.

4- All fees are non-refundable.

5- MIFF will not be responsible for damaged copies.

6- Students must present a valid Student ID in order to receive our student discount.

7- Not all submissions are selected for the official competition. Our Judges are free to make their own choices and no answers will be given about not selected films.

8- MIFF can consider any film to be disqualified if the festival considers the content inappropriate. If you have any questions regarding this decision you might contact us at our email address info@miff.org.za

9- Filmmakers can submit the film in multiple categories in order to become multi-award films. Still, the decision about the selection is strictly determined by our judges' team and no selection is guaranteed.

10- A fee is required for the main category submission and also fees for additional categories. For payment structure visit (the Festhome website).

11- The applicants (submitter) must accept MIFF Rules and Terms.

12- All submissions in personal categories required the name of the person and the category. You can easily send us this information in the cover letter on the Festhome website.

13- Submitting your movie, you authorize MIFF to use, distribute and share the film poster, trailer, synopsis, and movie stills on our social media.

14- Maximum length allowed is 70 minutes.

15- A DCP copy will be requested for the live Events with English and/or French subtitles.

16- If your movie is selected to be screened at our Annual Live Event, you must provide subtitles in English.
