Short films have a special sensitivity for capturing the essence of rural life, that “unhurried rhythm” which sometimes clashes head-on with modernity. Here is a selection that balances local traditions, the role of women, and humor, with a particular focus on rural Spain.

Festival Description (Short & Direct)
Rural Humor, Ancient Wisdom. A film festival dedicated to the "old ways" and the wit of our elders. We celebrate rural life, traditional customs, and the authentic humor found in village squares. No filters, no pretense—just pure storytelling from the roots.

Terms and Conditions / Rules & Regulations
IMPORTANT: Before entering the competition, each participant must read and accept the rules and competition principles in their entirety. Any person who violates any of these rules will be disqualified from the contest.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Type of Works: Comedy and humor short films, preferably featuring rural settings and elderly people.

Maximum duration: 10 minutes.

language: Spanish or Galician.

Authorship: Authors guarantee they hold full rights to the works and exempt the festival from any legal liability.


OBLIGATIONS OF REGISTRANTS

Each author and/or collective may submit more than one work.

Shipping costs (if applicable) shall be borne by the participants.

Awards

Villasinde Cortosnacorte Award: Best Short Film.


THE COMMISSION

The organization reserves the right to reject works that do not meet quality standards or the festival's requirements.

The right to modify the rules as necessary is reserved, with prior notification to participants.

The commission will handle any other unforeseen matters or contingencies.


JURY

The decisions of the jury and the public are final and not subject to appeal.

The jury is composed of the festival’s executive board members.

The jury may award special mentions as deemed appropriate (diploma only; no cash prize or trophy).


EXHIBITION & RIGHTS

The festival reserves the right to use images and clips from finalist works for promotional purposes in physical and digital media.

Digital files will become part of the festival's archive and may be used for non-profit cultural activities or festival promotion. As a courtesy, creators will be notified of such activities.

Acceptance of these rules implies consent for finalist pieces and the attending public to appear in photographic and video recordings for future festival promotion, including press and digital media exclusively related to Festival Villasinde Cortosnacorte.


FINAL PROVISIONS

The organization will not transfer any work to third parties for any exploitation other than the promotion of this festival.

Any issues not covered by these Rules will be resolved by the Festival Commission.
