Medellin will become a Documentary Capital!

From the 19th to the 24th of July, 2016, we will live an audiovisual festival in the centre of Medellin.

COLOMBIA.DOC

The short film selection will be based on a scoring system and carried out by a curator jury. The award (trophy) for the best Colombian short film will be bestowed to the film with the highest score at the closing ceremony of the Festival.

Colombian Short Documentary Films

The International Documentary Film Festival Docs Barcelona Medellín, will select 12 short films produced in Colombia within the last two years for its competitive section Colombia.doc.
The selected films will be screened at the forth version of the Festival, that will take place in the centre of Medellín from the 19th to the 24th of July, 2016.

Thanks to the support of the Film Development Fund -FDC, the Colombia.Doc section will give us the opportunity to strengthen our commitment to the Colombian audiovisual sector that focuses on real life stories. We will carry out industry training for the authors whose work was selected, as part of the process of making Medellin a documentary capital. The selected works will enter the film selection of Colombia.Doc and will later circulate in film festivals specialised in documentary.


- The call is open to films that have already participated or are currently participating to other calls.

- The festival will pay for accommodation and food expenses as well as travelling expenses within Colombia for the participants that live outside Medellin and its metropolitan area (applying for General Producer and/or director only).

- Each selected project will be given one place to present their new projects at the Pitch School and two places for the "Coffee with an expert" . The call for these events will be issued in May.

- Fragments of the film will be used in the trailer, teaser and promotional material of the Festival and its competition Colombia.Doc.

- Every short film will receive the same payment for the exhibition and distribution fees. Each producer is free to decide whether to assist other festivals that screen a Colombia.Doc section.

- By participating, you agree with the above-mentioned terms. There is no limit as to how many movies a participant can submit
