The awards in the General Section are:

- Reel for the Best Youth Audiovisual Creation.

- Reel for Best Use of New Audiovisual Narratives.

- Reel for Best Message.

- Reel for Best Actor.

- Best Actress Reel.

- Audience Reel.

Special notes on the awards: the “Best Young Audiovisual Creation Award”, which is part of the general section, is aimed at those creations made by children under 12 years of age or young people between 12 and 35 years of age, in order to recognize promising young artists and filmmakers in the Canary Islands.

The jury may make special mentions or recognitions it deems appropriate to those films or persons determined by the jury.

The awards will not confer any economic value, unless otherwise justified.

The works to be submitted must be governed by the following criteria:

The theme of the short films is free.

Short films may not be longer than 8 minutes.

They will be evaluated in order of arrival of each short film.

Narrative innovation and originality (use of new creative approaches, artificial intelligence, use of augmented reality or virtual reality, use of sound design, participation of the viewer with the audiovisual piece, etc...) will be valued.

The sequences that appear in the short films must be shot entirely in the autonomous community of the Canary Islands.

All those who wish to participate may do so, regardless of age, sex or nationality, with the exception of the Organization itself (students, parents and teachers), which may not participate by sending short films to the general section.

Short films whose year of production is from 2022 onwards may be submitted.

Works that have previously participated in other film festivals or audiovisual contests may participate.

The short films will be sent through the digital platform FestHome (festhome.com) or by sending them to the e-mail secuencia27@gmail.com through wetransfer.com, in “.mp4” or “.avi” format, with the recommendation of having a high resolution (1280 x 720, or 1920 x 1080). Along with the videos to be sent, there must be a text document or technical sheet with the title of the short film, the author's name, telephone number and, if desired, a short synopsis of the audiovisual work.

The deadline for the submission of works will be August 6, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

20 short films will be selected, according to what is expressed in these rules.

The selected short films will be communicated through social networks.

There will be prizes for the most outstanding projects, selected by Secuencia 27 in the case of the General Section.

The Management may change the rules if required, communicating the possible changes through the different possible communication channels, providing the justification for the change.

By participating with his/her audiovisual work, the creator transfers the image rights of authors, actors and actresses that appear in the short film for the projection and dissemination of such pieces in our festival or future in-person and/or virtual screenings linked to Secuencia 27 or La Farola Films.
