Participants of the International Section will compete for the category of Best International Short Film Award.
The winner will be awarded with the distribution of his short film or production of his future feature by a sponsor that we will announce soon.
CALL FOR ENTRIES 6th EDITION
“International Section”
1.- FESTIVAL:
The International Short Film Festival Ópera Prima en Corto is organized by the non-profit Association GARNATA.
Our objective is to be an exhibition platform for short films from international cinema and video schools and to bring together international film schools and filmmakers with the Spanish Film Industry.
2.- DATE & PLACES:
The Festival will take place from the 17th to the 20th of June 2015 in Granada, SPAIN.
3.-REQUIREMENTS:
- Schools and filmmakers must own their films’ screening rights.
- All short films must have been shot during a learning process or a course in a film school or any other institution alike.
- Each school can send a maximun of 5 short films.
- Genres: fiction, documentary, animation, experimental & video art.
- Duration: Max. 20 minutes (credits included)
- The valid formats are: quicktime, .mov or .avi
- Short films must have been produced from January 2013.
-All short films must be subtitled in Spanish or English for preselection. The selected ones must be subtitled in Spanish.
4.-SUBMISSION
DEADLINE: 17th of APRIL 2015

You can send us your short films through www.festhome.com, an online distribution platform short films to different festivals. You will have to register as producer or distributor and upload your film in order to be a part of the pre-selection process. It requiere fill out all the steps.
Short films will only be accepted if they are submitted with its correctly filled application form. Short films not meeting the aforementioned requirements will not be admitted.

5.-SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
The International Section will consist of twelve short films, which will be selected among all the works received by the Festival.
The Organization will notify by e-mail and by telephone number the filmmakers and schools if they have been selected.
From that date, the selected participants will have 2 weeks to send the required material to international@operaprimagranada.com . The selected works must be subtitled in Spanish.
The Organization`s decisions will be final and unappealable.
6.-AWARDS:
Participants of the International Section will compete for the category of Best International Short Film Award.
The winner will be awarded with the distribution of his short film or production of his future feature by a sponsor that we will announce soon.
7.- JURY:
The Jury will be chosen by organization of the Festival.
The Jury`s veredict will be unappealable. The Jury may decide not to award any film or/and to give a special mention not specified in these rules.
8.-RIGHTS AND MATERIALS:
Every sent copy will be part of the Festival`s archive and won`t be returned. Ópera Prima en Corto may use these copies for cultural purposes but never for commercial use.
9.- AGREEMENT
Taking part in the Festival implies the total acceptance of all these rules.
