The São Paulo Short Film Festival, also known as Oscar Junior, celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2024. The event is growing and becoming more inclusive, adopting a hybrid format with decentralized online and in-person screenings to reach a diverse audience. Partnerships with cinemas, schools and local associations bring the festival closer to communities.
The program includes not only the screening of short films, but also talks and workshops with professionals from the audiovisual market, as well as business roundtables to boost regional production. The festival now welcomes films from various categories, promoting local talent from Jundiaí. Since 2019, it has offered talks and workshops with renowned professionals. The 2024 edition promises to contribute to the growth of the audiovisual sector in Jundiaí and the interior of São Paulo.

1. The organization will appoint a qualified jury of five members to evaluate the short films for each Competitive Exhibition of the 10th OSCAR JUNIOR - FESTIVAL DE CURTA METRAGEM PAULISTA O. JUNIOR.
2. The qualified jury of the 10th OSCAR JUNIOR - FESTIVAL DE CURTA METRAGEM PAULISTA O. JUNIOR will choose the winners of the following awards:
A) INDEPENDENT PRODUCER SHOWCASE INTERIOR PAULISTA
A.1 Best Film
A.2. Best Screenplay
A.3. Best Direction
A.4. Best Actress
A.5. Best Actor
A.6. Best Editing
A.7. Best Cinematography
A.8. Best Art Direction
A.9. Best Short Film by Popular Jury
B. CINEMA AND LITERATURE SHOWCASE
B.1. Best Film
C. JUNDIAÍ SHOW
C.1. Best Film
D. STUDENT SHOWCASE
D.1. Best Film
3. Each qualified jury will determine the winners of each category based on the following criteria: concept, execution, technical and artistic excellence, originality and innovation. The jury may award special mentions.
4. Decisions will be taken by an absolute majority of the jury.
5. The decisions of the qualified jury are unappealable.
6. The Best Film Award for short films in the STUDENT SHOW will only be awarded to current Brazilian students.
6.a. The films entered in the STUDENT SHOW must have been produced during the period in which the student is studying.
6.b. The winner of Best Film in the STUDENT SHOW will have their film screened in a single session in the INDEPENDENT PRODUCER SHOW.
7. The AWARD is AMATEUR for short films and will only be for non-professional Brazilian productions, produced by individuals or MEIs, not production companies.
8. The categories for Best Short Film by the popular jury will be chosen using a method determined by the festival organizers in a form to be distributed to spectators before each competitive session, and their votes will be computed according to the weighted average. The film that receives the highest percentage of votes will win the award.
9. In the event of a tie in any category, the qualified jury will determine the winner of the award considering the highest score in the following order as the tie-breaking criteria: technical and artistic excellence, originality.
10. The winner of each category will be announced at the closing ceremony and subsequently via the website, social media and/or e-mail.
1. Only students, screenwriters, directors and independent producers who do not own feature film productions can take part in the 10th OSCAR JUNIOR - FESTIVAL DE CURTAGEM PAULISTA OSCAR JUNIOR, as the festival is aimed at encouraging students and novice producers with no experience, as well as building up an audience.
2. The materials submitted to the 10th OSCAR JUNIOR - FESTIVAL DE CURTA METRAGEM PAULISTA OSCAR JUNIOR must have been produced in the interior of São Paulo, and the focus on the growth of professionals in the metropolitan region of Jundiaí, in the state of São Paulo, is of paramount importance to the project's proposal. Registration for the 10th OSCAR JUNIOR - FESTIVAL DE CURTAGEM PAULISTA OSCAR JUNIOR implies acceptance that the film submitted by the participant, if selected by the curators, will be shown in the program from October 1 to November 31, 2024 at the organization's discretion at one of the screening points.
Only the films selected and nominated by the jury will receive a trophy and remuneration for the screening of the film, at the unquestionable discretion of the organization.
3. Participants are aware and agree that the films selected for the 10th OSCAR JUNIOR - FESTIVAL DE CURTA METRAGEM PAULISTA OSCAR JUNIOR may have excerpts, at the organization's discretion, used to publicize the event in the media, in graphic material and on the website www.studiozaik.com.br or through our partners, without any financial compensation.
4. Registrants must guarantee that they are the holder of all rights, or they must have the holder's power of attorney and send the appropriate documentation.
5. The organization will not be held responsible for any disputes or legal disputes concerning the films entered.
6. The directors and producers who enter the 10th OSCAR JUNIOR - FESTIVAL DE CURTAGEM PAULISTA OSCAR JUNIOR will be responsible for all the licenses, permits, rights and authorizations required for the film to be shown.
