The fifth year of RIFE again showed the festival to be a must attend event complete with sold out screenings, packed networking events and incredible attendance from film lovers and filmmakers visiting from across the globe. We are eagerly anticipating topping our best year yet at our fourth annual Reel Independent Film Extravaganza. Continuing our partnership with West End Cinema, RIFE15 will once again be held in the prestigious and historic Georgetown sector of Washington, DC for a week long run from October 9 - 16.

The festival will continue to celebrate national and international independent films and filmmakers, with screenings at one of the city's top independent film theaters, West End Cinemas, and parties and events in the surrounding Georgetown area. RIFE15 will once again feature an awards ceremony as well as a filmmaker meet and greet for all attending filmmakers and pass holders.

This event is presented by Reel Independent Film Extravaganza, LLC.

FILMS WILL BE SELECTED BY A RIFE JURY AND THE FESTIVAL PROGRAMMER & PRODUCER. FROM THESE SELECTED FILMS THE REEL AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED.

JOHNSON, MD ARE NOT LIABLE NOR WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF COPYRIGHTED MATERIALS OR UNAUTHORIZED MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED IN THE FILM. IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO SECURE PROPER PERMISSION FROM THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER OF MUSIC, STOCK FOOTAGE OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL WHICH COULD VIOLATE ANOTHER ENTITY’S COPYRIGHT OR EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE MATERIAL.

FILM SUBMISSION NOTES

DMV LOCAL FEES are reserved for projects solely produced in either Washington DC, Virginia or Maryland.

- FILMS MUST HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WITHIN THE LAST THREE (3) YEARS

- IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED, YOU MUST PROVIDE A HIGH QUALITY NTSC DVD or Blu-ray

- ALL NON-ENGLISH FILMS MUST HAVE ENGLISH SUBTITLES

- DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL MATERIAL

- NO EDITS OR CHANGES WILL BE MADE IN FILMS BY RIFE FOR ANY REASON

- RIFE IS OPEN TO EVERYONE…EVERYWHERE

- RIFE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO INVITE FILMS

- THE SUBMISSION OF ALL FILMS REPRESENTS AN AGREEMENT TO THE POLICIES SET FORTH IN THE RELEASE FORM AND THE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

I hereby agree to permit my film to be screened at the RIFE. I am the sole owner of all legal rights and title and have the authority to submit the enclosed materials to the RIFE. I guarantee that all rights necessary for a film festival screening have been obtained. I will indemnify and hold harmless the Reel Independent Film Extravaganza or its employees; Reel Independent Film Extravaganza LLC; Skyrocket Productions LLC; and Spencer Johnson, individually and collectively, from and against all claims, demands, losses, damages, judgments, liabilities and expenses (including, but not limited to attorney’s fees and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, publicity, screening, credits, and loss of or damage to the screening materials entered. I understand that, unless otherwise specified, the RIFE provides no financial compensation for any exhibition of my work. The RIFE reserves the right to use the submitted publicity information, photos, and excerpts in its marketing and publicity, including online formats, for the festival and any other uses related to the promotion of the festival. I understand, am authorized to accept, and agree to abide by all terms listed in this release and in the submission guidelines.
