The Reel Youth Film Festival is a touring festival of the world's best youth-made short films. Chosen by a youth selection panel, it is a diverse collection that includes all genres, celebrates youth culture, and showcases a new generation of film makers.

The festival kicks off annually at the Vancouver International Film Festival (Canada) and goes on to tour in partnership with screening partners across Canada and around the world. Overall winners are determined by cumulative audience votes.

People’s Choice Award

In order to be considered, film makers must meet all of the Festival Requirements, as well as:

1) Submit their film as a digital file, either on festhome.com or by mail.

2) Complete a Reel Youth Film Festival submission form (downloadable at http://reelyouth.ca/submit2.html).

3) If your film is selected, give permission for it to be a part of the Reel Youth “Best of the Fest” DVD. (This will expose your film to a wider audience).

4) If your film is selected for the festival and wins a People’s Choice Award, give permission for it to be hosted on reelyouth.ca.

5) Give permission for Reel Youth to submit your film to other festivals (all screenings will be listed at http://reelyouth.ca/tour2.html)
