The 24 Risas por Segundo International Comedy Film Festival and Escribe Cine invite Mexican screenwriters to submit original comedy scripts, regardless of experience or residence. Submissions can be short films (max. 15 pages) or feature-length (max. 100 pages). Free registration runs from April 23 to 30, 2025; afterwards, a fee applies. The submission deadline is June 20, 2025. Winners will be announced on August 2, 2025. Selected projects receive mentoring, workshops, and awards for the best scripts. Participants must send two PDFs: the script (anonymous) and another with personal info, synopsis, biography, and legal documents.

Ópera de Leyva: A space where the new Colombian cinema is born. Five first fiction feature film projects, selected by call, will have group workshops and personalized tutoring, with experts in project development, script, production, pitch and distribution.

Leyva script pitch
Impulso Morelia 11 calls for Mexican feature films (fiction or documentary) in postproduction to participate in its 2025 edition. Selected projects will be presented to international experts (programmers, distributors, producers) to receive feedback and support for completion and circulation.
The call closes on July 23, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. CST. Results will be published on August 26, with the in-person meeting taking place October 13–15 during the 23rd FICM.
Eligible projects must have a rough cut between 70 and 120 minutes, directed by Mexican citizens or legal residents in Mexico, and must not have participated in other work-in-progress programs or previous Impulso Morelia editions.
Awards include the José María Riba Prize ($250,000 MXN), postproduction services worth over 1 million pesos, and promotional support.

Morelia Impulse - FICM
The UNIFEST Film 2025 call for entries includes a “Best Short Film Script” category for writers from Mexico and the United States. Any genre or theme is accepted, as long as the script is original, unpublished, and intended for a short film. Submissions are open from January 31 to July 31, 2025 via FilmFreeway. The prize consists of two days of professional filming equipment rental (4K camera, lenses, lights, sound) and one free day in a studio, to support the winning project’s production. Results will be announced between August 28 and 31, 2025. You must attach the required documents (ID, synopsis, rights registration) and follow the festival’s social media. UNIFEST Film – Best Short Film Screenplay
The 2025 Conexões Gramado Film Market call is open to audiovisual professionals and companies interested in participating in business rounds, panels, workshops, and showcases during the Gramado Film Festival. Projects accepted include feature films, short films, series, documentaries, animation, extended reality (VR/AR), and narrative video games, whether in development or completed. Applicants must register in advance, submitting a dossier with synopsis, project status, financing needs, and audiovisual materials like teasers or trailers if available. Participation in panels and workshops is free with prior registration and does not require a project submission. The university short film showcase call is open until early July, while business round registrations usually close by late July.
