The Malacate Film Festival Corrales, was born as an international festival with its own identity, linked to the industrial and cultural heritage of Corrales,Aljaraque, a Huelva small town located in southwestern Spain. Its name refers both to the Teatro Cinema Corrales, the festival's main venue, and to the town's large, historic windmill, which will be the festival's visual centerpiece (logo, laurel wreaths, and trophy).

A total of 17 categories will be awarded the exclusive Malacate Trophy.

1. Festival Objectives
The Malacate Film Festival Corrales is an international film festival that aims to promote and disseminate high-quality cinematic works, as well as support emerging and established filmmakers in the fields of feature films, short films, documentaries, and animation.

The festival will be held in person at the Teatro Cinema Corrales (Aljaraque, Huelva, Spain).

The Malacate Film Festival Corrales will award prizes in a total of 17 official categories:

The Malacate Film Festival Corrales organization reserves the right to declare any award category void if there are insufficient entries or no submissions that meet the established requirements for that category.

In particular, the Special and Territorial Awards (such as Best Production from Huelva and Best Production from Andalusia) may not be awarded if no eligible productions are submitted in those categories.

The decision to award or not an award rests solely with the jury and the organization and is final.

The awards will preferably be presented in person during the festival's closing gala to the winner or a duly authorized representative.

If the winner is unable to attend or designate a representative, the festival may send the trophy or award via certified mail.
Under no circumstances will the Malacate Film Festival Corrales assume the shipping costs, which must be paid in full by the winner.
The organizers are not responsible for any issues that may arise during shipping once the award has been sent.

4. Trophies
The awards will consist of the Official Malacate Film Festival Corrales Trophy, an artistic bronze piece inspired by the mining heritage of the province of Huelva, designed exclusively for this Festival and inspired by the authentic winding machine (malacate) located in the municipality of Corrales. Aljaraque.

5. Jury
The jury of the Malacate Film Festival Corrales will be composed of members of the festival committee, specializing in film and audiovisual disciplines.

All submitted productions, regardless of their length (always within the limits established in these rules), will be viewed and evaluated comprehensively and rigorously.

Each work will be scored according to the following criteria:
Overall assessment of the work: 1 to 10 points
Performances: 1 to 10 points
Direction: 1 to 10 points
Music: 1 to 10 points

The works with the highest scores will be included in the Official Selection in the corresponding category.

In the final phase, the jury will be expanded with new members to provide a more precise and well-founded final evaluation, from which the festival's official awards will be drawn.

The jury's decisions are final.

7. Production Date
Submitted works must have been produced on or after January 1, 2025.

8. Registration
Submissions will be accepted exclusively through the Festhome platform.
Payment of the registration fee does not guarantee selection.

9. Exhibition Rights
Participants authorize the festival to publicly screen the selected works during the festival dates, on a non-profit basis.
Screenings will be free of charge until capacity is reached.

10. Promotional Material
The festival may use excerpts from the selected works, as well as images, posters, or trailers, exclusively for promotional and festival dissemination purposes.

11. Liability
Participants declare that they hold the rights to the submitted work and release the festival from any liability arising from third-party claims.

12. Data Protection
The personal data provided will be processed in accordance with current data protection legislation and used solely for the management of the festival.

13. Acceptance of the Rules
Registration for the Malacate Film Festival Corrales implies full acceptance of these rules.

14. Modifications
The organizers reserve the right to modify these rules for justified reasons and will notify participants of any changes.




  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
