AWARDS AND JUDGING

A jury composed of industry professionals will select the winning films for the Official Section across its various categories. The awards will be presented at the Festival’s Closing Gala.

1. OFFICIAL SECTION: Feature Films
Feature films of all genres featuring Andalusian production or Andalusian participation in the role of director, and which premiered on or after April 1, 2026.

All feature films in the OFFICIAL SECTION are eligible for the Bronze Fawn (*Cervatillo de Bronce*) for Best Feature Film – Fiction (€3,000 prize), the Bronze Fawn for Best Feature Film – Non-Fiction (€2,000 prize), and the “Martín Cañuelo” Audience Award (no cash prize).

2. OFFICIAL SECTION: Short Films

Short films of all genres produced or co-produced in Spain that premiered on or after October 15, 2025. Short films in the OFFICIAL SECTION are eligible for the Bronze Fawn for Best Short Film (€1,500 prize), the Cinema Córdoba Award (€1,000 prize), and the Cinema School Award (prize consisting of either a free filmmaking or acting course at the IAEC training center valued at €700, or support for the pre-production and production of a short film).

MAIN SECTIONS

1.Official Feature Film Selection: runtime between 60 and 120 minutes.

2.Official Short Film Selection: runtime between 5 and 20 minutes.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

All genres are accepted.

Films submitted or selected for the previous edition will not be accepted.

Participants may submit as many films as they wish.

Works must be submitted in their original language. Films shot in a language other than Spanish must have Spanish subtitles burned into the image.

The premiere date for feature films must be April 1, 2026, or later.

The premiere date for short films must be October 15, 2025, or later.

FEATURE FILMS

Feature films vying for a place in the OFFICIAL SELECTION must include Spanish production in their credits. Preference will be given to films involving an Andalusian production or co-production company and to those holding their premiere or preview screening within the framework of the festival.

Films must not have been previously screened at other festivals, showcases, film series, or public screenings within the province of Córdoba. If previously released in cinemas, they must have completed their commercial run prior to the event.

The organizers will cover transport, accommodation, and meal expenses for one person per project. Attendance at the screening by the director, producer, or one of the lead actors or actresses is mandatory. Failure to comply with this requirement means the film may remain in the program but will be excluded from the competition and ineligible for any cash prizes.

If selected, participants agree not to screen their work in the city of Córdoba until one month after the event, unless it is a national theatrical release.

Films produced or directed by members of the current CINEMA26 team are ineligible for the festival's competitive sections.

Acceptance of these rules and regulations is a mandatory requirement for selection.

SHORT FILMS

Short films included in the OFFICIAL SECTION must feature Spanish production or a Spanish director.

Films must not have been previously screened at other festivals, showcases, film series, or public screenings within the city of Córdoba.

Short films competing for the CINEMA Córdoba Award must meet and provide proof of one of the following requirements:

1) Filmed wholly or partially in the province of Córdoba.

2) Director or producer from Córdoba.

3) Production company based in Córdoba.

Short films competing for the CINEMA Escuela Award must meet and provide proof of the following requirements:

1) The director must be under 25 years of age.

2) The director must be from Córdoba or reside in the province of Córdoba.

3) The director must provide proof of affiliation with an educational institution or school based in the province of Córdoba.

At the appropriate time, the organizers may request a "making-of" video (minimum 1080p quality) from the production companies of short films competing for the CINEMA Córdoba or CINEMA Escuela awards, to be included in the festival's recap video. Attendance at the screening by the director and one of the lead actors is mandatory for inclusion in this category and eligibility for the cash prize.

Premiers or preview screenings taking place within the framework of the festival will be viewed favorably.

If selected, participants agree not to screen their work in the city of Córdoba until one month after the event has concluded.

Films produced or directed by members of the CINEMA26 team for the current edition are ineligible for the festival's competitive sections.

Acceptance of these rules and regulations is a mandatory requirement for selection.
