The best films of the festival selection will receive an Equinoxio (statuette) and cash.

You can win the following awards:

Best Narrative Short
Best Documentary Short
Best Animated Short
Best Colombian Short
Audience Award
Best Latin American Short

CAN I PARTICIPATE?

You can participate if you made your film (as a director, producer or screenwriter) after January 1 of 2015, being a student of an undergraduate or postgraduate program of the audiovisual field of studies in a formal academic institution of Latin America.

Narrative Official Competition
Documentary Official Competition
Animated Official Competition
Colombian Cinema Official Competition (In this category short films that are simultaneously participating in any of the previous categories can be selected)

WHEN CAN I SUBMIT MY SHORT FILM?

Submissions will be open from March 29 to May 9 2016.


WHAT SHORT FILMS DO YOU RECEIVE?


We are interested in short films of all themes with a maximum duration of 30 minutes (credits included).

If your film is not in spanish you will have to send us subtitles in this language.

If you submitted your film in previous editions of FESTIVAL EQUINOXIO you will not be able to submit it again. However you can send a different short.

You can even submit any number of short films you want as long as they keep the requirements asked, and you guarantee us your are the owner of all the rights (image, music etc…) and the FESTIVAL EQUINOXIO is exonerated of any claim by third parties for their public screening.

If you haven’t technically completed your film (post production not complete) you can submit it as long as you notify in the submission form of this condition.

Finally if your short film is already available online for the general public you will not be able to participate.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY FILM?
You can do it for free using our platform in WWW.FESTIVALEQUINOXIO.ORG or through FESTHOME.

Besides sending us a link with the short film and its password (if necessary) you will have to fill a submission form and attach the following documents:

If you are currently a student, copy of your student ID.

If you already graduated, a letter from your university that certificates that you made your short film when you were a student.

A photo of the Director (Color, 300 dpi, JPG or TIFF).

A photo of the Producer (Color, 300 dpi, JPG or TIFF).

A poster of the short film

A trailer

Still Photography of the filming (At least 3 pictures - Color, 300 dpi, JPG)

2 still frames of the film (300 dpi, JPG or TIF)

WHAT IF I’M SELECTED?

It will be a pleasure to have your film in our competition. We will let you know and you will have to send us your short film, a trailer or teaser and you will have to authorize us to screen it.

Don’t forget that the short film you send must be identical in all aspects (form and content) to the one you sent in the submission. Except if the one you sent was not technically completed, in this case, we will only accept this type of changes (post production adjustments).

The participation in this submission supposes the acceptance of these regulations.
