The "MIRA" LGBT Short Film Festival is a cultural and social initiative that seeks to make visible and celebrate sexual and gender diversity through the narrative power of
cinema. Held annually in Alzira, this festival will offer a platform for filmmakers and producers, as well as emerging young filmmakers, both national and international, who address LGBT+ themes, fostering dialogue, empathy, and understanding in society.

Our goal is to create a safe and enriching space where LGBT+ stories are told, recognized, and valued, contributing to the fight against discrimination and the building of a more inclusive society.

This is the 1st AMATEUR-BEGINNERS EDITION.

Premi in contanti: 150€

1st PRIZE: €100.00 and a trophy

RULES FOR THE FOURTH MIRA FESTIVAL

The organizing association, GAILES Ribera Alta-Baja, of the FOURTH MIRA FESTIVAL, with the aim of promoting visibility, diversity, and creativity within the LGBTQ+ community, announces a new edition of its short film festival.

Below are the rules for participating in this edition.

1. Name and Theme The event is called the FOURTH MIRA FESTIVAL and its theme revolves around LGBTQ+ diversity.

2. Important Dates
• Registration opens: April 1, 2026.
• Registration closes: September 30, 2026.
• Festival date and screening of selected short films: November 28, 2026.

3. Participation:
• Anyone over 18 years of age, of any nationality, may participate.

• A distinction is made between amateur and professional participants, as there are two award ceremonies.

• Short films must include Spanish subtitles if they are in another language.

4. Short Film Requirements
• Minimum duration: 5 minutes. Maximum duration: 15 minutes.

• Any language, provided Spanish subtitles are included.

• The film must have been produced within the last 5 years.

• All submission formats are accepted (digital file, viewing link, etc.).

• Short films that have already participated in other festivals are accepted.

• Music videos or other works that are not considered short films will not be accepted, with the exception of musicals.

5. Selection, Jury, Categories, and awards:
• There is no distinction by category (documentary, fiction, animation, etc.).

• The first and second best short films will be awarded. The winner will be chosen through a jury voting system comprised of individuals from the art world, civil society (various associations), the city council (cultural technicians), and members of the association. Each jury will consist of five people, one from each of the aforementioned groups. The final score will be the average of the points received from each jury member.

• The jury will give special consideration to narrative, editing, and story.

• The prize will consist of a trophy for the top two entries, one for first place and one for second. The first prize will be €300.00 and the second prize €150.00.

6. Rights and Authorizations:
• Participants must grant the rights to exhibit their works for public screening during the festival.

• They must also authorize the use of images and sounds from the short film for the promotion of the event on social media, in the press, or online.

Use will always be for cultural and non-commercial purposes. 7. Required Documentation To participate, the following must be submitted:
• ANNEX I: Declaration of Responsibility, along with a copy of your National Identity Document (DNI) or other identification.

• ANNEX II: Synopsis of the short film.

• ANNEX III: Acceptance of Legal Terms.

• ANNEX IV: Information on submitting the viewing file for the short film.
Participation in the festival implies acceptance of these rules. The organizers reserve the right to modify any aspect of these rules if necessary, informing participants in advance.
