Yecla en Corto is a film festival dedicated to showcasing short films as a platform for social reflection and youth engagement. With a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, the festival seeks to highlight fresh voices and support filmmakers who explore human and social issues through a young and innovative lens.
The awards will consist of a trophy, plaque, and/or diploma:
-Yecla en Corto Award for Best Short Film.
-Social Vision Award for the short film that best reflects a social issue affecting today’s youth.
-General Audience Award.
-Young Audience Award.
1. Purpose of the Call
Yecla en Corto is a film competition that promotes short films as a driver of social reflection and youth participation. The festival was created with the aim of supporting creators who address human, social, and committed issues, through a young, diverse, and inclusive perspective.
2. Scope and Participation
The competition has a national scope. All individuals or legal entities residing in Spain who hold the exhibition rights of the submitted short films may participate.
Registration is free, and each participant may submit only one work.
3. Characteristics of the Works
Works produced between January 1, 2024, and September 15, 2025.
Maximum duration: 20 minutes, including credits.
Advertising works, music videos, or institutional/commissioned content will not be accepted.
It is mandatory that all works—national and international—be submitted with Spanish subtitles in order to promote inclusion for the audience.
Originality, narrative quality, social impact, and audiovisual aesthetics will be especially valued.
4. Registration and Submission
Registration will be carried out through the Festhome platform.
The submission period will run from August 15 to September 15, 2025.
Along with the short film, the following must be attached: technical sheet, synopsis, poster, teaser (if available), and at least 2 high-quality stills from the work.
5. Festival Sections
Official Competition Section: short films selected by the committee, eligible for the main awards.
Awards in this section: Yecla en Corto and Social Vision.
Out of Competition Section: sessions aimed at the general public and high school students in Yecla.
Awards in this section: Young Audience Award and General Audience Award.
Note: all short films selected in the Official Competition Section will also be eligible for the General Audience Award.
6. Screenings and Activities
Screenings will take place in performance venues, educational centers, and designated halls in the municipality of Yecla.
Official Competition sessions will be held on Friday, October 24, and Saturday, October 25. Educational sessions will take place from Monday, October 20, to Thursday, October 23.
The festival may include parallel activities such as talks, meetings, or discussions.
The awards ceremony will take place on the morning of Sunday, October 26.
7. Selection Committee
Works will be evaluated by a Selection Committee composed of professionals from the cultural and audiovisual sectors.
Their decision will be final and will be notified to the selected participants starting October 1, 2025, via email.
8. Screening Delivery Format
The festival will ensure that screenings are made in high-quality format. The screening copy of the selected works must be in MP4 or MOV format, with a resolution of 1920x1080, H.264 codec, 20 Mbps (minimum), STEREO (avoid 5.1), and without watermarks.
The copy must be sent online through a file transfer service such as WeTransfer, Drive, Filemail, MyAirBridge, etc.
Additional promotional material may be requested for use on social media, press releases, or the festival catalog.
9. Jury and Voting System
The Official Jury will be composed of professionals in film, education, and culture, and will be announced during the festival week. They will be responsible for awarding the Yecla en Corto and Social Vision prizes.
Awards will be granted based on criteria such as script, direction, acting, social message, technical quality, or ability to connect with the audience.
In addition:
The Young Audience Award will be voted by students attending screenings at secondary schools, through anonymous ballots at the end of each session.
The General Audience Award will be voted by attendees of official screenings, also through an anonymous ballot system.
10. Awards
Prizes will consist of a trophy, plaque, and/or diploma:
Yecla en Corto Award for Best Short Film.
Social Vision Award for the short film that best reflects a social issue affecting today’s youth.
General Audience Award.
Young Audience Award.
11. Closing Gala and Guest Support
The awards ceremony will take place on the morning of Sunday, October 26.
The organization may cover one night of hotel accommodation (Friday or Saturday) for one person per selected project coming from outside the Region of Murcia.
12. Rights Assignment
The authors of the selected short films grant the organization non-exclusive exhibition rights solely for:
Official festival screenings.
Non-profit cultural, educational, or outreach activities.
Promotion on social media or media outlets (maximum 1 minute of footage).
Selected participants must sign a rights assignment document provided by the organization.
13. Archive and Later Use
Selected works will become part of the festival’s audiovisual archive and may be screened in future editions, special sessions, or showcases, always for non-commercial purposes.
14. Legal Protection and Liability Waiver
Participants guarantee that they hold the intellectual property rights and authorization for all elements comprising the work.
The organization is not responsible for any legal claims regarding third-party rights.
15. Mentions and Conflict Resolution
The jury may grant special mentions not previously foreseen.
No correspondence will be maintained with the authors regarding decisions made by the jury or the committee.
Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these rules.
16. Taxation and Legislation
Cash prizes (if any) will be subject to applicable tax withholdings and must be declared by the recipients as required.
17. Modifications and Cancellations
The organization reserves the right to:
Modify these rules if justified circumstances require it.
Change dates or venues of activities in case of force majeure.
Declare one or several awards void if the quality of the works does not meet the minimum required standard.

The selected projects presented in this section—and that meet all requirements—will be eligible for the "Yecla en Corto" and "Perspective Social" awards, granted by the Official Jury.
*All submitted projects will also be eligible for the "General Audience Award," awarded by the audience attending the screening sessions of the selected projects.
Regardless of the original language of the short film, it must be submitted with Spanish subtitles.

This section will feature only projects created by secondary, high school, and vocational training students. These projects will be part of screening sessions held at schools in Yecla. The "Young Audience Award," voted on by students at those schools, will be presented.
Regardless of the original language of the short film, it must be submitted with Spanish subtitles.
