The Tiempo Sur Audiovisual Festival celebrates its 14th edition in 2026 from the northwest region of La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain.

For fourteen years, Tiempo Sur has promoted the encounter between filmmakers, audiences and territory, supporting emerging voices and demonstrating that talent can be found everywhere.

In 2026, Tiempo Sur begins a new stage as a Goya Awards qualifying festival in the categories of Fiction Short Film and Documentary Short Film.

The festival combines film screenings, educational activities, meetings with filmmakers and cultural initiatives connected to the unique landscape and identity of La Palma.

Participation is free of charge.

The official trophies are unique handcrafted pieces created in La Palma, Canary Islands.

GENERAL RULES

* Participation is free of charge.

* Short films completed after January 1st, 2025 may participate.

* Maximum running time: 30 minutes, including credits.

* Films in languages other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.

* There is no premiere requirement.

* Multiple entries per participant are allowed.

* Entries may be submitted through Festhome.

* The festival reserves the right to place films in the most appropriate category.

* Selected films must provide a screening copy in the format requested by the organization.

* The festival may use excerpts, stills, posters and promotional materials for communication and publicity purposes.

* Submission implies full acceptance of these rules.
