CORTO IMOLA FESTIVAL bring the short film in as many places as possible.

We are in the streets of the historical centers , schools , libraries , cinemas, theaters , cultural associations , social centers , nursing homes , canteens , youth centers , pubs , restaurants. A playlist of short films that includes the best of international production , from around the world , to reconfirm the artistic value of the short film , it's visible in most places possible from 8th to December 13th , the day of the the Festival will have the most of his visibility.

The Festival is divided in the following sections:

- International Competition for short films

- “Il Giorno + Corto” at Imola and Ravenna and in other "Festival's places" distributed
mainly in Emilia Romagna Region

- Retrospectives

- Appointments and special programs.

The Festival’s Direction will award a prize of € 1.000 euro, appointed by the Festival’s audience.

REGULATIONS


1 – INTRODUCTION, AIMS AND PURPOSES

Corto Imola Festival – IL GIORNO + CORTO deals with short films, and will promote the competition, retrospectives and various related events.


2 – PROMOTING AGENCIES

Corto Imola Festival is organised by the Council of the Town of Imola, in collaboration with ST.ART s.c.r.l. the Council for Culture of the Emilia Romagna Region, Province of Bologna.


3 – VENUE LOCATION AND DATES

The Festival takes place in Imola, Ravenna and in other "Festival's places" distributed mainly in Emilia Romagna Region, from 8th to 13th December, 2016.

4 – SECTIONS

5 – INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SHORT FILMS

Admission to the International Competition is reserved to short films of any country, completed after 30th October 2015, realized in any format and any genre (animation, fiction, experimental, documentary). Submitted shorts must be no longer than 15 minutes. Exceptions will be considered by the unique and final judgement of the Festival Direction.

Proprietors of films wishing to participate in the Competitions are requested by 31th July 2016 to provide the festival with an online screening of the film and fill out the entry-form on the festival’s website

Films expressly invited by the Festival Direction can participate in the Competition.
Festival Direction can also reject those films which can not guarantee a good quality public screening. The Festival’s Direction will award a prize of € 1.000 euro, appointed by the Festival’s audience.


6 – ENTRY FOR THE COMPETITIONS PRE-SELECTION

Registration is free.

The entry form must be submitted online by 31st July 2016.

7 – ADMITTED FILMS

The Festival will give final communications about the admitted films by email within 1st September 2016.

All films admitted to the competition must send online, by 15th September 2016:

- a copy of the short for the screening in the following format: MOV CODEC H264

- complete technical information sheet

- Italian or English Subtitles, or the complete list of dialogues in Italian or English with the timeline. If the short isn't subtitled in Italian, English subtitles must be sent in a separate file (preferably in srt format) when sending the video, that should have no burnt-in subtitles.

- a short synopsis of the short

- biofilmography of the director (max 10 lines, in English)

- at least 2 stills of the film in 300 dpi, and a picture of the director

- a statement by the director on the film

- any other possible promotional material (posters, brochures, press kits)

More details will be provided to the selected

- Subtitles in Italian or English, or the complete list of the dialogues in Italian or English with the timeline.

If short film is not subtitled in Italian, subtitles must be submitted in English language separate file (preferably in srt format) simultaneously sending video, which will possibly be free of superimposed subtitles.

All copies of the selected films are requested to reach the Festival by 15th September 2016.

Beyond that day, films will be rejected by competition and programme.

During the festival, from 8 to 13 December, the short films selected will be visible on the site
www.cortoimolafestival.it and in the places of the festival, to be voted by the public. It isn't binding but preferable.


8 – SCREENING OF FILMS

The Festival Direction decides on the schedule and timetable of the screening. Foreign films shall be screened in the original version with Italian subtitles.


9– GENERAL PROVISIONS AND CHALLENGES

Entry and participation to the Festival shall imply full acceptance of the present regulation and entry form.

The participants authorize the Festival Organization to process the personal data (according to the Italian law 675/96) contained in their works and complementary material.

The Festival Direction reserves the right to take final decisions as to any exception not envisaged in the present regulation. In case of litigation, the Court of Ravenna shall be competent. The present regulation is laid down both in Italian and in English. In case of interpretation problems, the Italian version shall prevail.
