The Association Rive Gauche – Festival, Florence, Italy, is pleased to announce the 8th edition of its International Cinema Contest. The Festival aims at promoting the collaboration and competition of young directors and promotion and distribution of audio-visual works. The Festival also wants to encourage facilitate directors in their contacts with producers, distributors, actors who will be guests of the eventSections of Festival
It’s possible to submit works for the following sections:
a – Short Fictions and Directorial Debuts
b – Documentaries
c – Innovative and experimental film
d – Animation and films for young people and schools
e – Screenplays
Applicants must specify the submission section.
Dates of the Festival
Firenze FilmCorti Festival will be held in Florence, at Murate Art District (MAD) in Piazza Le Murate, from May 04th to 08th, 2021.
Work can be sent until the deadline, that’s February 10th, 2021. After that date films can’t be accepted.

Awards. The awards for the winnes of Short film in competition are
– Euro 500 for the Best film
– Free waiver for at the Hollywood Screenings Festival for the Best film. Personalised plate, parchment and laurel.
(Note that the Best film of Festival also could be a Directorial Debut or an Innovative or Experimental film).
Personalised plate, parchment and laurel will be awarded also for the winners of each section (it means: Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Experimental films.
Besides the same prizes are for the
Best Director
Best Screenplay
Best Actress
Best Actor
Best Photography.
Best animation film
Best Experimental film
Best Documentary.

Requirements:


Film: All the submitted film should not be longer than 40 minutes, included film credits.


Animation and films for young people and schools: the maximum duration for every film is 20 minutes, including the final credits.


Movies are accepted in any language, but they must be subtitled in Italian or in English.


Official selection. The candidates selected by the Jury for the Official Selection for all the sections will be notified from the 1st to the 10th of March 2021, through mail, In any case the list of the selected films will be published on the Blog (https://rivegauche-filmecritica.com), on the Festival website (https://firenzefilmcortifestival.com ), and on Rive Gauche-Festival Network. The travel costs for attending the Festival, as well as the accommodation and living expenses, will not be refunded.

The authors and producers admitted to the Official Selection must mention in their works their attendance of the 8th Firenze FilmCorti Festival, the section they have applied for and the prizes won, as well as the official logo of the Festival, the participation awards, and the awards they were nominated for.
