We are celebrating the tenth edition of the Ciutadà Compromés Film Festival, organized by ACICOM.

Faithful to the initial project, we want to bring Valencian audiovisual productions closer to the public, which is why we project on multiple screens counting on the synergies of social entities and organizations. We will have civic and social, institutional and commercial rooms.

We value, with their exhibition, Valencian audiovisual productions, those that bring us a committed look. Our environment, social, territorial, economic, human rights, relationships, etc. is treated in these works. Some audiovisuals with a restless look.

We are a festival away from the red carpet, and more identified with the people and organizations we care about and work to improve society.

RULES

X COMMITTED CITIZEN FILM FESTIVAL 2024
The Civic and Communication Association (ACICOM) organizes the tenth edition of the Ciutadà Compromés Film Festival, which will take place from October 21 to November 12, 2024.

PRESENTATION

ACICOM (Citizenship and Communication Association) is a civic association founded in
2009 by a group of resilient people, dedicated to defending the rights of the
citizenship, especially in matters of media and communication cultures.

The mission or reason for being of ACICOM, is the improvement of the media and cultural diet of Valencian citizenship; so we want to promote audiovisual projects born in the bosom of the public and/or that get their support.

The Ciutadà Compromés Film Festival is thus an opportunity for bring the producers, their audiovisual works, the authors closer to the
committed Valencian citizenship.

ACICOM understands audiovisual as one of the best vehicles to promote new models
of life, motivating positive behaviors and attitudes towards the reality that surrounds us,
as well as reporting injustices or generating analysis, reflections or vital proposals.

In 2013 we started the Cinema Ciutadà Compromés series, which became a Festival in
2015. We can say that we have consolidated a great project: singular as well as plural.

Now we invite you to participate in the X Film Festival Ciutadà Compromés (FCCC2024).

A festival that offers numerous audiovisuals with a critical look at the realities of our environment, highlighting and within reach the great creativity and audiovisual production we have in Valencia.

CONDITIONS

They can enter the competition:

1. Audiovisual works (feature film, medium film or short film) as long as the
its subject has a direct relationship with the Valencian Country or that its producers, directors, actors, are of Valencian origin or based in the Valencian territory.


3. They must refer to one of the following topics:

● Citizenship (social movements, relationships, participation, demands)

● Human Rights and culture of peace

● Climate emergency and just eco-social transition.

● Equality and diversity

● Democratic values, Good Government and Historical Memory.

4. Productions can be of any genre: fiction, documentary,
experimental video creation, animation, advertising, video clips, etc.

5. The audiovisuals must be in Valencian or Spanish, or at least one version
subtitled in either of the two official languages ​​of the Valencian Community.

6. The audiovisuals will go through a selection process. Overcome this sieve,
will be projected in the official section opting for the contest.

7. Participants accept the conditions with their participation, this includes the
possibility of screening the footage in different theaters in the Valencian territory.

DEADLINE AND FORM OF PRESENTATION
Until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024.

2. Audiovisual work: Online link (and key, if this is private) for viewing by
part of the organization of the Festival.

DOCUMENTATION AND MATERIALS TO PROVIDE,
ONCE THE AUDIOVISUAL HAS BEEN SELECTED

The organization will contact the person listed on the registration form
the audiovisual works that have been selected, whether you want to present them to
contest as in the sample section, screenings out of contest. The audiovisuals selected must provide a copy with the highest possible quality, in coordination with the Festival team.

We are grateful for all the infographic materials that are considered appropriate for the correct dissemination of the screenings and promotion of the audiovisual works (frames,
trailer, billboard, etc...)

The selected production can be presented by e-mail or
any similar sending platform (drive, onedrive, dropbox, wetransfer, ...) a
comunicacio@acicom.org or in person at ACICOM headquarters (Office 202
C/ Sant Ferran, 12. 46001-Valencia).

Shipments by post or courier of any material must
clearly marked with the legend: “Sample without commercial value, exclusively for
for cultural purposes". The expenses generated by sending the materials will go
by the participant. ACICOM will not bear any costs incurred for these shipments.

THE PRIZES OF THE OFFICIAL SECTION

The following prizes are established in the competition of the Official Section

● Climate emergency and just eco-social transition.
● Equality and diversity
● Democratic values, good governance, democratic memory.
● Special Audience Award
● Special Jury Prize

All awardeds will obtain an original award from the X Film Festival Ciutadà Compromés 2024, as well as the badge of the award to put on their audiovisual works and technical sheets.

Initially, the Special Jury Prize with an amount of €500 awarded by ACICOM and the Audiovisual Prize in Valencia with €200 awarded by the Plataforma per la Llengua will receive financial support.

The rest of the awards and distinctions may be supplemented financially with the
contributions from any other collaborating entity.

Prizes may be forfeited, at the discretion of the Jury.

SELECTION AND JURY

The official jury will be made up of communication professionals, the
social movements and the Valencian audiovisual world.

The verdict of the audiovisual prizes presented in the Competition in the Official Section i
their delivery will take place at the closing ceremony of FCCC2024.

The decisions of the jury will be final. The direction of the CCC Festival is reserved
the right not to admit, once preselected, those audiovisuals that do not
meet the appropriate technical and content conditions for their display
public

The members of the jury may award two prizes to the same film, and also
they will also be able to award special mentions to audiovisuals they deem appropriate
in an honorary capacity.

RIGHTS OF THE WORKS AND LEGAL TERMS

1. The organization of the 10th Cinema Ciutadà Compromés Festival assumes that the people responsible for submitting the audiovisuals to the competition have the rights to exhibit the works they present, exempting ACICOM from any civil or criminal liability for the projection of the audiovisuals .

2. During the celebration of the festival, the organization reserves the right to exhibit them
films selected in the various sessions and rooms during the development of the Festival.

3. All audiovisuals that have been admitted and are projected at FCCC 2024, in the Official Competition Section or in other non-competition sections, will appear in the festival's official catalogue. The Festival may make copies of the selected audiovisuals that will become part of the Festival's video collection and may then become part of the Festival's circuit catalog, the conditions of which will be expressly agreed with the holders
of the rights of participating productions that accept it.

4. The producers, directors or people who write the audiovisuals in the official competition section of the festival, authorize, when presenting their registration form, the use of one or several fragments of the audiovisual for its dissemination as a informative and promotional material in any media that the festival organization decides to use.

5. The Festival aims to bring together audiovisual professionals and the public,
which will facilitate both the presentation of the audiovisuals and the
subsequent colloquiums on audiovisuals and the topics they deal with.

6. The Festival organizes parallel activities to the screenings, consistent with them
topics they deal with.

7. The registration of an audiovisual in the Official Competition Section of the X Festival Ciutadà Compromés FCCC2024, as well as those presented out of competition, implies acceptance and compliance with the present rules

8. The FCCC2024 program will be broadcast both in digital formats, on the ACICOM website https://acicom.org/ as well as with other media.
