CINEMA24 - Córdoba Film Week aims to bring together a wide and varied selection of cinema that is produced from Andalusia, with special attention to the most innovative proposals and emerging filmmakers, having the cordovan capital as a meeting point in order to position itself as the cinematographic event of reference in the cultural agenda of the city and become a meeting point for the state cinematographic sector.

The 3rd Edition of CINEMA24 will take place from November 29 to December 5, 2024.

AWARDS AND QUALIFICATION

A jury of professionals from the sector will award the Awards for Best Feature Film, Best Short Film and the Cinema Córdoba award, all of them with a financial prize. A representation of the public attending the screenings will decide the CINEMA24 Audience Award for Best Film. The awards will be presented at the Festival's Closing Gala.

Documentary feature films that are part of the OFFICIAL SECTION will be eligible for the Carmen Award from the Andalusian Film Academy for Best Documentary Feature Film in the next edition of the Carmen Awards, as long as they meet the conditions and requirements established in the rules to qualify for said awards.


1. OFFICIAL SECTION Feature Films

Feature films (fiction, documentary or animation) of Andalusian production/co-production or that have Andalusian participation in the role of director or producer released in 2024. All the feature films that make up the official section compete for the Bronze Fawn for Best Feature Film ( endowed with €3,000) and the Audience Award (without financial award).


2. OFFICIAL SECTION Short Films

Short films (fiction, documentary or animation) of Andalusian production/co-production or that have Andalusian participation in the role of director or producer released in 2024. All the short films that make up the official section compete for the Bronze Fawn for Best Short Film ( endowed with €1,500).


3. SECTION / CINEMA Córdoba

Short films by Córdoba filmmakers and/or production companies released in 2024 (fiction, documentary or animation) shot totally or partially in Córdoba. The short films that are part of this section will NOT be able to be part of the official section and will be eligible exclusively for the Cinema Córdoba Award (endowed with €1,000).

MAIN SECTIONS

1- Official Selection of Feature Films: duration between 60 and 120 minutes.
2- Official Selection of Short Films: duration between 5 and 20 minutes.
3- Official Selection of Short Films CINEMA CÓRDOBA: duration between 5 and 20 minutes.


SUBMISSION CONDITIONS

- All those films that have an Andalusian director and/or producer or co-producer may be registered.
- Each participant may present the number of films they want.
- The works must be presented in their original language. In the case of a version other than Spanish, it must have subtitles in Spanish.
- Films selected in the previous edition will not be admitted.
- Fiction, documentary, experimental and animation are accepted.
- The production date of the films must be dated January 1, 2024 or later.


IMPORTANT NOTE

FEATURE FILMS that are part of the OFFICIAL SECTION programming cannot have been previously screened in other festivals, exhibitions, film series or screenings open to the public in the province of Córdoba and must have completed their commercial cycle in theaters during the dates prior to the celebration of the event.

SHORT FILMS that are part of the OFFICIAL SECTION programming cannot have been previously screened in other festivals, exhibitions, film series or screenings open to the public in the city of Córdoba.

The SHORT FILMS that are part of the OFFICIAL SECTION of CINEMA24 cannot have been previously screened in other festivals, exhibitions, film series or screenings open to the public in the city of Córdoba.

The SHORT FILMS that are part of the CINEMA CÓRDOBA SECTION must have been filmed totally or partially in the province of Córdoba and cannot have been previously screened in other festivals, exhibitions, film series or screenings open to the public in the city of Córdoba. In due course, the Organization will ask the producers of the selected short films for the making of (with 1080P quality) where it can be verified that the tape has been recorded somewhere in the territory of the Province of Córdoba. Attendance at the screening by the director, producer and/or leading actor/actress is mandatory to be programmed in this category and be eligible for the award. It will be especially valued if it is a national premiere.

It will be positively valued if the premiere of the work at the regional or state level takes place at CINEMA23. In case of selection, participants agree not to project their work in the city of Córdoba until two months after the event.

Acceptance of these rules will be a necessary requirement for the preselection of the projects.


REGISTRATION FORM

- In order to participate, it will be mandatory to do so through the FESTHOME online platform, registering the film in the corresponding category.
- The registration period ends on October 15, 2024.
- Registration is free.
- The Organization presupposes that the people or groups that register the works have the rights to exhibit them, as well as the authorization to receive the prize in the case of collective authorship. In any case, the organization exempts itself from any responsibility that may arise from the infringement of this base and from the claim for payment of copyright for public communication or other intellectual property rights.


SELECTION

- A selection committee, made up of professionals from the media and members of the organizing team of CINEMA24, will be in charge, based on artistic quality, of selecting, among all the films received, those works that will participate during the Festival. The organization may complete the festival programming with other films apart from those received through this call if it deems it appropriate. The decisions adopted will be communicated as of November 1, 2024 by means of communication via email and subsequent publication on the official website of CINEMA24 III Semana del Cine: www.cinemacordoba.com

- The selected films must be sent for screening BEFORE November 14, 2024, in a file with an H.264 CODEC extension, with a compression rate (bitrate) between 30 Mbps and 50 Mbps (progressive) and a minimum resolution of 1080p. If you do not have a downloadable copy through FESTHOME, it will be requested by the organization by email.

Along with the selected film, the following information must be attached by email to "sessions@cinemacordoba.com":
1- Two frames of the film in digital format (300ppp, JPG and no larger than 1 Mb.).
2- Photograph of the director in digital format (300ppp, JPG and no larger than 1 Mb).
3- File of subtitles in Spanish.srt or list of original dialogues with translation in Spanish or English (essential).

- Feature films (fiction or documentary) that participate in the Official Section will be eligible for the Bronze Cervatillo Award for Best Feature Film (endowed with €3,000) and the Audience Award (without a financial award). They will also receive a travel bag consisting of €250 to cover their attendance at the festival and their participation in the Q&A after the screening of their film. The attendance of the director or producer at the festival during the screening of the film will be an essential requirement to be part of the programming.


- Participants authorize The Organization to use frames, photographs and extracts from the films, as well as any material provided to the organization, for dissemination in any communication and promotional medium, in order to promote and disseminate this Festival. The documentation and material sent for the selected works may appear in all advertising and promotional media for the event.


- All the requirements mentioned above are essential to participate.


BENEFICIARIES, FORM OF PAYMENT OF PRIZES AND INVOICE

- Form of payment and invoice: the payment of the travel bag (€250 VAT included) will be made by bank transfer and upon presentation of the invoice. The billing information will be provided, in due course, by email. The prizes will be subject to the applicable tax regulations.
- Recipients of the prizes: the prizes will be paid to the person or production company that appears on the registration form.

- Form of payment and invoice, where appropriate: the payment of the prizes will be made by bank transfer and prior presentation of the invoice, in the cases that proceed. The prizes will be subject to the applicable tax regulations.

- The same will happen with the travel bag for the assistance of part of the team of the feature films screened in the Official Feature Film Selection.


AUTHORIZATION OF USE

- Those responsible for the selected films that are part of the programming assign to RECORD: Professional Association of Cinema and Audiovisual of Córdoba (association in charge of organizing the event) their use for the screening during the festival with a cultural and non-profit nature.


CONSENT AND PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

- Participants accept that their personal data contained in their participation request be processed under the responsibility of the Record Association for the purpose of managing registrations for activities and events, based on the legitimation of consent, legal obligation and public interest.
You can exercise the rights of access, rectification, deletion, opposition, limitation and portability by proving your identity by writing an email to sessions@cinemacordoba.com indicating in the subject “Exercise access rights”. Your refusal to provide them will determine the impossibility of participating in the contest.


ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

- Participation in CINEMA24 - III Córdoba Film Week implies acceptance of all sections of these rules as well as the resolution by the organization of any problem not included in these.
