Kat's Film Fest is a film festival dedicated to highlighting Black voices and storytelling on the day of Black American liberation, Juneteenth. The event will open with an open mic.

All genres/forms accepted. Seeking narratives, documentaries, music videos, animation, and experimental works. Applicants should be 18 and over.

Film entries should not exceed 45 minutes.

Only submissions completed between 2024 and 2026 will be eligible. Music videos will only be eligible if completed between 2025 and 2026 with limited promotion/screening.

The festival has the right to use promotional material from the official selections. Please submit a trailer and/or poster after your film for promotion.

The filmmaker retains ownership rights of their work.

Entries should be submitted by the filmmaker, director, producer, or screenwriter.

Works using generative AI will not be accepted. If there is AI usage, it must be declared at time of submission and exclusively used as a supporting tool for auxiliary production (such as transcribing, transcoding, automation, audio treatment, etc)

Due to the 50th year anniversary of Buffalo's Juneteenth Festival Celebration, priority will be given to Black Buffalo-based filmmakers.
