The Ituango Film Festival is a space for meeting, reflection and training around the cinema. Children, young people and adults see in this important event the possibility of valuing and recognizing their history, their territory, their present and their future through the seventh art and the audiovisual in general. Currently, the community of Ituango works on processes of memory reconstruction and tell their own stories and artistic and cultural strategies that promote territorial peace are consolidated. At the same time, the festival is presented as a space for the protection and reconstruction of the social fabric of vulnerable populations.

A series of audiovisual, cinematographic and complementary activities will be part of the official program with the possibility to bring the film festival activities to diferent villages of the municipality. Among them are:

•Audiovisual Creation and Experimentation Laboratory.
•Departmental meeting of the Communications Collective.
•Main Exhibition of Colombian Cinema NUDO DE PARAMILLO.
•National Short Film Competition NARRATIVES OF THE REGION.
•GUEST COUNTRY Cultural and Cinematographic Exhibition.
•Thematic Forums and Meetings.

The festival, in addition to being included in the Ituango Municipal Development Plan 2020-2023, manages resources through public calls and alliances with public and private sector entities.

XI ITUANGO FILM FESTIVAL

Call for entries to 2023 competitive Short Films section "NARRATIVAS DE REGIÓN".

Ituango, 2 to 5 November, 2023.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

• People over 18 years of age, born in Colombia or foreigners who have lived in Colombia for more than two years may participate.

• The owner must send the fully completed registration, including the link for viewing the film.

• The owner may register a maximum of three audiovisual works (he must fill out the online form three times, if applicable by this way), filmed in Colombia.

• Works of any subject will be received, however, priority will be given to productions whose contents address the themes proposed for the ninth version: OUR ANCESTORS.

• The duration of the audiovisual work must be a minimum of 7 minutes and a maximum of 36 minutes including credits.

• The production date of the postulated audiovisual work must be after January 1, 2021 and it may have participated in other films festivals without any inconvenience. The film cannot be published on the internet.

• The selection criteria for audiovisual works will be based on the technical quality of the film, relevance and narrative proposal.

• The ITUANGO FILM FESTIVAL is not responsible for copyright infringements of the registered audiovisual works; therefore, any type of legal claim will fall on the owners of the work.

• In this call for entries, audiovisual works that explicitly and offensively address acts of racial discrimination, violence, sexual abuse, animal and environmental abuse will not be accepted.

• The ITUANGO FILM FESTIVAL will notify the selected audiovisual works via email.

• The owners of the selected audiovisual works must send by wetransfer, vimeo, google drive or any other digital platform chosen, the original file of the work in MP4, .MOV, .AVI, HD (720P), FULL HD ( 1080p) or 2K.

• With the registration, the owner of the film grants the ITUANGO FILM FESTIVAL the respective exhibition license for the screening in the XI ITUANGO FILM FESTIVAL.

• The selected audiovisual works will be part of the ITUANGO FILM FESTIVAL archive and may be presented in itinerant exhibitions that are organized in the municipality of Ituango and any other place in the country, prior agreement / negotiation with the owner of the exhibition licenses.

• The owner authorizes the ITUANGO FILM FESTIVAL to use images of his audiovisual work for promotional and outreach activities of the festival, such as: catalogs, programming, promotional video clips, among others.

• By submitting the registration through FESTHOME or the online form, the participant confirms the registration of film. Declares that the information provided is true and authorizes the organizing team of the XI ITUANGO FILM FESTIVAL to verify the data provided. Any inconsistency that may arise regarding the veracity of the information, including infringements related to copyright, would automatically leave the postulated film out of competition.

• Call opening date: September 3, 2023. Deadline: October 2, 2023.

• Publication of selected works: October 16, 2022.

• The registration of an audiovisual work means the acceptance of all the TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
