The 12th Athens ANIMFEST - International Animation Festival opens to Animation fans again this year. With a program full of shorts and feature animations, we respond to animators from around the world willing either to compete or to screen their movies in the parallel special events of our festival.

* In Ancient Olympic Games all the winners were crowned by the judges with a wreath of a wild olive tree which was called "cotinos". This olive tree was behind the Τemple of Zeus in Olympia.

ATHENS ANIMFEST 2017 – Rules and Regulations

Art European Animation Center organizes the 12th Athens Animfest!

Athens Animfest includes a 7-day program full of competitions and parallel special events about the art of the animation all over the world.

Our festival accepts only ANIMATED movies in Short, Student, Experimental and Greek category.

Only animated movies that were completed after 1st of January 2014 are eligible.

You could submit your movie through online Registration Form direct to our website (www.athensanimfest.eu) or via platforms like (Festhome).

Your preview movie should be submitted only via a streamable URL link.

Movies with not English dialogues should be subtitled in English.

QUALIFICATION FOR ENTRIES:
Only works completed after 1st of January, 2014 will be accepted.

For submission are accepted only ANIMATED MOVIES (Short, Student, Experimental and Greek) up to 30 minutes.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The movies (Short, Student, Greek, Experimental), that will be selected for the competition sections should be sent via internet as a URL link to a streaming video source with the below technical specifications:

- File extension: .mp4 or .mov
- Video Codec: H.264, ProRes 422
- Video Frame Rate: 24, 25, 29.97 or 30 fps
- Aspect ratio: we accept any aspect ratio
- Resolution: 1280 x 720, 1920 x 1080
- Field Dominance: Progressive
- Audio: AAC 48 kHz

OFFICIAL LANGUAGES:
The official languages of the Festival are English and Greece.

REGISTRATION AND DATES:
Five (5) euros registration fee are required.

SELECTION:
Each entry is considered for the Official Competition and the out-of-competition showcase screenings. The Festival Selection team will choose the films to be screened in competition and showcase. Works will be judged within their category for conceptual, technical and aesthetic innovation and excellence.

NOTE:
All works submitted for selection will be made available to the general public during the Festival for screening.

COMPETITION JURIES:
Athens Animfest has juries for, short, student, experimental and Greek competition sections.

ACCEPTANCE OF REGULATIONS:
By agreeing to and/or submitting the entry form for the Athens Animfest, the participant accepts, without reservation, the terms of the present regulations as stated in this document.

Also:
- I am aware that registration cost is 5 €.
- I permit Art European Animation Center to reveal my e-mail.
- I preserve all the rights of my animation production.
- I allow Art European Animation Center to project my animation production in the Athens ANIMFEST events.
- I allow Art European Animation Center to use extract (up to 30’’) of my selected animation production or its texts and photos for publicity purposes (press, site, catalogue).
