The Ânûû-rû Âboro International Film Festival is committed to echo the words and aspirations of the indigenous peoples around the world, with a particular focus on peoples from the Pacific region.

All the winning directors receive a sculpture by artists of the country.

List Grand prix of the Ânûû-rû Âboro International Film Festival: to be presented to the best feature from the International selection, endowed with 300 000 Pacific Francs (2 500 €).

Tieti Hotel Award: special jury pick from the international selection, endowed with 150 000 Pacific Francs (1 250 €).

Federation of Secular Education Leagues Award: to be presented to the best short film in the international selection, endowed with 100 000 Pacific Francs (850 €).

Bernheim Library Award: to be presented to the best feature in the Pacific selection, endowed with 150 000 Pacific Francs (1 250 €).

Tjibaou Cultural Centre Award: to be presented to the best short film in the Pacific selection, endowed with 100 000 Pacific Francs (850 €).

Cèikî Award: to be presented by Koniambo Nickel-KNS to the best local film, endowed with 300 000 Pacific Francs (2 500 €).

Nouvelle-Calédonie Première (TV & Radio) Award: to be presented to acknowledge the best technical achievement in a local film, endowed with 200 000 Pacific Francs (1 680€).

Young Public Award: to be presented by High school students. Public Award: sponsored by the local daily Les Nouvelles Calédoniennes

Rules and regulations

Article 1
The tenth edition of the Ânûû-rû Âboro International Film Festival will be held in Pwêêdi Wiimîâ (Poindimié) in Kanaky-New Caledonia, from 14 to 22 October 2016.

Article 2
The Ânûû-rû Âboro International Film Festival is committed to echo the words and aspirations of the indigenous peoples around the world, with a particular focus on peoples from the Pacific region.

Article 3

The artistic direction shall itself determine independently the official selection of the Festival and the sections in which the films are to be presented.

Article 4

Only short and feature films having been produced after 1 January 2014 are eligible for submission to the Festival.

Articles 5 :

Registration and screening prerequisites

5.1 All the films applying for the official selection must be registered online, using the appropriate registration form.

5.2 Closing date for registration and shipping of the DVDs is 15 May 2016.

5.3 Films must be submitted in their original language version with English or French subtitles.

5.4 The screening format can be a private link like Vimeo, a downloaded executable digital file (1 Go max) or a DVD.

5.5 The private link or the downloaded digital file shall be sent via the registration form and should be valid and accessible until 31 July 2016.

5.6 DVDs shall be sent before 15 May 2016 to the following postal address: Ânûû-rû Âboro BP 244 98822 Poindimié Nouvelle-Calédonie

5.7 The consignor will cover shipping costs and customs duties as required. The consignments will be cleared of all customs duties of any kind (please state "no commercial value"), failing which they might not be accepted by the organising committee.

5.8 DVDs will not be returned to the consignor; please be aware that the festival retains items no more than three months.

Article 6 :
Selection

6.1 A list of the selected films will be released on the Festival website around the end of July 2016.

6.2 By submitting their films, directors, producers and distributors allow Ânûû-rû Âboro to screen them as part of the official program of the Festival, and to use a two-minute extract as a trailer to promote the event as required.

Article 7 :
Prize

List Grand prix of the Ânûû-rû Âboro International Film Festival: to be presented to the best feature from the International selection, endowed with 300 000 Pacific Francs (2 500 €).

7.1 The awarding of the various awards is the sole responsibility of each jury.

7.2 Awards and Prize money are paid out to the film producers. The Festival shall not be held responsible of, and shall not be drawn into, distribution issues arising from directors’ contractual duties. Ânûû-rû Âboro award-winning films will have the Festival logo prominently displayed on all promotional material such as posters, postcards, etc., as well as any press kits, which would be further produced for a distribution or a festival in France and abroad. The logo may also be displayed on the DVD or in the credits if the recipient wishes to. Non-awarded films may use the logo provided by the Festival in connexion with a reference to their participation to the 2016 edition on any promotional material, DVD or credits.

Article 8 : Copies and screening format

8.1 Producers are requested to provide a digital file, a DVD or a Blu-ray for each of the selected work.

8.2 Copies of the short-listed films shall be provided no later than 30 September 2016.

8.3 For any film in original version, which would not have been subtitled in French, the Festival requires the script of the film, either in French or in English, in addition to a subtitlefree copy, no later than 31 August 2016.

Article 9
The festival does not charge any fee for submission. Your registration entails the acceptance of, and the compliance to, the provisions of these Terms of reference. In case of dispute, the French text shall prevail.
