RULES FOR THE "CON ACENTO" SHORT AND FEATURE FILM COMPETITION

The Jerez Performing and Audiovisual Arts Association and El Espejo Producciones, thanks to the support of the Jerez City Council and the Cádiz Provincial Council, are announcing the "Con Acento" Jerez SHORT AND FEATURE FILM COMPETITION.

1. PARTICIPANTS
All short and feature films that meet the following requirements may be submitted:

Release date in 2024 or later. A premiere or pre-release at the Festival will be considered.

Presentation of an Andalusian accent.

Must be directed by an Andalusian director or filmed in Andalusia.

Authors will be responsible for the rights to their works.

To promote inclusion, they must be subtitled.

Stories that promote values ​​that contribute to improving society will be favorably considered.

Short films must be under 25 minutes in length.

Submitted short films must fall into one of the following categories: fiction, animation, and documentary.

Feature films must fall into one of the following categories: fiction and documentary.

Selected short and feature films must provide the Festival organizers with a DCP copy for screening.

2. REGISTRATION

Registration must be submitted through the FESTHOME platform, including:

Name of the short/feature film

Duration

Premiere date and location

Address details (full name, place of birth, and place of residence)

Filming locations

Production details (name of the production company or the people involved in the production, address, website (if applicable)

Contact details of the person submitting the entry (full name, phone number, and email address)

Feature film / Short film in digital format.

3.- DATE AND LOCATION

The 2025 edition of the "Con Acento" Short and Feature Film Competition will be held in Jerez de la Frontera as part of the Con Acento Film Festival, which will take place from October 14 to 18, 2025.

4.- SELECTION

A committee appointed by the Festival Organization will select the finalist works to be screened at the festival. The selection committee's decision is final. The selection of the finalist short films and feature films will be announced on September 30, 2025, at a press conference, on the Instagram profile @festivaldecineconacento, and on the website www.festivaldecineconacento.com.

The management of the participating short films and feature films will be notified of their selection in advance by phone or via the email address used to register.

Those selected as finalists agree to provide the Festival Organizers with a copy in DCP at least two weeks before the public screening date determined by the Organizers.

5.- SCREENING AND AWARDS

The selected short films will be screened during the Festival in public sessions at the locations, times, and dates designated in the official Festival program. For public screenings, the selected short films will cede the screening rights at no cost to the Festival.

The winners will be announced at the Closing Gala at the Villamarta Theater in Jerez on October 18.

Best Fiction Short Film Award: 800 euros.

Special Mention for Best Filmmaker with an Accent.

The awards will be presented by members of a jury selected by the Festival Organizers, comprised of representatives from the audiovisual and cultural sectors. The jury's decision is final.
Winners will include a descriptive description of the award along with the Jerez Film Festival logo "con Acento" (provided by the Festival) at the beginning of their short or feature film entries for screening at festivals, theaters, and competitions.
The Festival reserves the option to include additional awards during the call for entries.

6. ACCEPTANCE AND PAYMENT OF AWARDS

Payment of the awards is subject to current Spanish tax regulations. From the closing date of the event, the Festival will send the winners a communication (via email) requesting the necessary documentation to process the award.

The Festival Organizers will process the award within approximately 90 days after the Festival. The required documentation for payment will be as follows:
• Copy of ID
• IBAN code of the bank account intended for the payment.

After receiving the notification of the prize and requesting the required documents, the winners will have a period of 10 days to submit their acceptance of the prize and the required documentation. If this period is not met, the prize will be deemed rejected. Once payment has been received, the winners agree to send a signed receipt of receipt of the prize (the template will be provided by the Festival).

7.- ARCHIVE

The short and feature films received will become part of the Festival's audiovisual archive, intended for non-profit audiovisual dissemination, and always for promotional, cultural, and/or educational purposes.
The Festival will request permission from participants before scheduling the screening of their works in non-official sections of the Festival, accepting their decision.

8.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

Registration implies acceptance of these rules as well as the decisions of the Organization and Selection Committee. Any issue not addressed in the rules will be resolved by the Festival Organizers.
The Festival Organizers reserve the right to change any of the rules if deemed necessary or necessary.
