OBJECTIVES: This non-competitive event aims to be a meeting place for independent film production and the public, we encourage the creation and production of audiovisual filmmakers from all over the world and provide a space to allow diffusion of contemporary and cultural film productions.

THEME: Works will be accepted whose aesthetic and thematic proposal refer to the cultural identity of the places of origin of the filmmakers, providing entertainment and cultural knowledge for the audience.

1. OBJECTIVES: This noncompetitive event aims to be a meeting place for independent film production and the public, we encourage the creation and production of audiovisual filmmakers from all over the world and provide a space to allow diffusion of contemporary and cultural film productions.


2. THEME: Works will be accepted whose aesthetic and thematic proposal refer to the cultural identity of the places of origin of the filmmakers, providing entertainment and cultural knowledge for the audience.


3. DATES AND VENUES:

- From 16 to October 20, 2017: Casa del Arte Diego Rivera, Puerto Montt, Chile.

- From 23 to October 26, 2017: Cultural Center Sofia Hott, Osorno, Chile.


4. REQUIREMENTS FOR PRESELECTION: Works will be accepted from any country of
production, both short films up to 30 minutes long and feature films, 60 minutes as minimum length. Works must be completed after January 2015.


5. LANGUAGE: All works applying to this event must be presented in his original version in Spanish or subtitled in this language.

6. MATERIAL RELEASE: In the event the piece is selected, the person submitting the work
authorizes Surmic 2017 to use a fragment of 20 seconds for promotional purposes.


7. Sending of the material: The works will be recived since June 1st, until August 30th, 2017 as deadline. The works will be recibe by email through the Festhome Plataform in the next link: https://festhome.com/f/311


8.-Pre Selection and Confirmation of the selection: A pre selection of the recived work will take place. "The surmic team will send an email to the authors informing about the pre selection results which must be completed and signed in order to authorize the exhibition of the play in the “Sexta Muestra Internacional de Cine SURMIC 2017” If don´t send the letter back to the team with all the information required, it will be reason of disqualification.



9.- Selection: The official selection will be published on september 30th, 2017 in the SURMIC website and will be notified by e-mail. SURMIC won´t take responsibility from the travel or lodging expenses of the producer or director who wants to exhibit his/her play in this event



10.- Extent The authors of selected plays authorize surmic to exhibit their plays during extension activities in cultural and educative centres between October and November of 2017



11. Surmic reserves the right to flexibilize certain formal restrictions if possible when the situation requires.
