Afro Film Fest is an annual film festival that will take place in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia with the aim to make an impact on the development of the film sector in Ethiopia. Through showcasing local and international films, Workshop for local film makers and by giving awards to deserving ones. The event is organized by Afroasiatic Promotion & Event and Afro Century Events.

A seven days fest planned to screen fifty + one films in seven venues of different categories: Feature film, Short film, Documentary, TV series, TV show, TV commercial and Music video. Besides screening and having a workshop for young upcoming film makers the festival also gives awards and recognitions for deserving personalities and films.

Our goal is a simple one: to focus on the art of film making in the purest sense by presenting the best independent genre films from around the world, and to shine a spotlight on local filmmakers, especially those new to the film festival experience. We are proud to start Afro Film Fest to serve an important role in supporting and sharing in the current growth of film production in the country.

• Award for best actor
• Award for best supporting actress
• Award for best supporting actor
• Award for best documentary
• Award for best short film
• Award for best TV series
• Award for best TV show
• Award for best TV commercial
• Award for best music video

A film made in languages other than English should have subtitles in English.

• Submission after July 1, 2018, will not be considered.

• No film selected may be withdrawn from the festival programs after its publication.

• Afro film fest accepts short films under 40 min and feature films over 50 min.

• Only films completed after 2015 are eligible to apply.

• No DVD will be returned, they will be kept at AFF for archival purposes.

• During the entire duration of the festival, none of the films invited may be shown outside the festival’s official theaters before its official screening.

• List of selected films will be published on every media and website that the festival uses and unless otherwise requested, all information contained on the entry registration form will be made published.
