Efímera Itinerant Film Festival at the Southern End of the World is a festival that seeks to contribute to the exhibition and promotion of national, Latin American, and Caribbean audiovisual works in the Aysén Region, Chile. From this, its inaugural edition, the film festival is dedicated to the regional public, with the primary purpose of reaching rural areas lacking infrastructure for artistic and cultural development. The festival is managed by local audiovisual professionals native to the region.

Films addressing the following themes will be accepted:

Rural/Border: Feature films and short films in the fiction, animation, and documentary genres, Chilean or foreign, with a minimum runtime of 15 minutes and a maximum of 90 minutes, including credits.

Queer: Feature films and short films in the fiction, animation, and documentary genres, Chilean or foreign, with a minimum runtime of 15 minutes and a maximum of 90 minutes, including credits.

Indigenous: Feature films and short films in the fiction, animation, and documentary genres, Chilean or foreign, with a minimum runtime of 15 minutes and a maximum of 90 minutes, including credits.

Terms and Conditions
Eligibility: Any work completed from August 2024 onward is eligible to participate.

Submission Dates: May 25 to August 5, 2026.

Selection Process: All submitted works will undergo a pre-selection process carried out by the organizing team of Efímera Itinerant Film Festival.

Submission Platforms: All participants in this call for entries must submit their works through the Festhome platform.

Language & Subtitles: Any film whose original language is not Spanish must include Spanish subtitles from the time of submission.

Shipping Costs: Any associated shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the applicant.

Return of Materials: No extra material received will be returned.

Notification: Film selection will be announced through the Festhome platform, as well as via email sent by the print traffic team of Efímera Film Festival.

Confirmation Deadline: The person responsible for the submission will have a one-week deadline to acknowledge receipt of the selection email; otherwise, the film may be excluded from the final selection.

Promotional Rights: The festival reserves the right to use excerpts from the selected works for promotional purposes. This does not affect the copyright of the works, which remains entirely with their respective owners.

Cultural Outreach Screenings: Those responsible for the production and distribution of the films in the Official Selection expressly authorize the organizing team of Efímera Film Festival to screen them for two (2) screenings outside the main festival event, as part of its non-profit cultural outreach program.

Unforeseen Cases: The festival organization reserves the right to make any decisions deemed necessary for cases not covered by these guidelines.
