Фестиваль начинается: 01 Июль 2021      Фестиваль заканчивается: 11 Июль 2021

Fest Anča International Animation Festival is unique in being the only Slovak multimedia festival focused on animated film targeted mainly at a mature audience.

The festival aims to raise awareness about animated film as an autonomous art form, and to educate about its multiple types and aspects.

The competitive programme comprises a selection of the stand-out animated films completed in the last two years. Through non-competitive thematic sections and regional focuses, Fest Anča presents artistic and production milestones in the history of animation. The festival includes an international competition of animated short films, music videos, and non-competitive screening sections. Additional accompanying events include presentations, exhibitions, workshops, concerts, film screenings for children and Pecha Kucha Ancha. The festival’s industry forum is targeted at film professionals with a focus on the planning, development and presentation of animated film projects.

Fest Anča has always called the Stanica Cultural Centre in Žilina (Slovakia) its home, gradually rolling out to other venues – such as the New Synagogue – as the festival grew in size, scope and vision. The truly distinctive an attractive element of Fest Anča is the unique informal setting, which fosters a positive atmosphere of like-minded individuals coming together for a few days to watch films and exchange ideas about what they love best – animation and video gaming. There’s no red carpet treatment, bouncers or VIP zones at our festival – filmmakers, organizers and visitors freely mingle in a cultural and creative exchange over beers and hotdogs. While some come just for the films, all festival goers leave informed, inspired and eager to return next year – to see more films, play more games, and make new friends.

Fest Anča is much more than a four-day summer festival – throughout the year the team strives to develop and support the Slovak animation and videogame industry. We update about animation events and screenings through social media and this website, and offer lots of opportunities for the Slovak animation community to meet, greet and network. As Kino Fest Anča we organize animated film projections and discussions with filmmakers, and the Best of Fest Anča distributes the current festival’s winning films.

We look forward to your visit.

This is the responsibility of participants.

ARTICLE V
The selection of competitive films is carried out by a committee appointed by the Festival organisers. The program schedule and order of screening sections are set by the Festival organisers.

Owners of screening rights (hereinafter the “submitters”) may submit their films to the 14th Fest Anča till January 31, 2021 for all the international competitions. Entry forms for competitive sections are available at the FilmFreeway webpage www.filmfreeway.com/FestAnca2021.

If a submitter does not provide a screening file of a submitted film, they will be disqualified from the selection process.

ARTICLE VI
The applicant agrees that films with the participation of a Slovak producer or a Slovak filmmaker may be automatically assessed during the pre-selection and included in the Slovak competition of short animated films.

ARTICLE VII
No selected film can be withdrawn from the Festival program after its participation has been officially confirmed by the submitter (a film submission acts as the official confirmation). Copies sent for competition will not be returned, such copies become part of the Festival’s archive.

The Festival committee reserves the right to select submitted films for both competitive and non-competitive sections. Submitters will be informed about the results of the selection process by March 30, 2021.

ARTICLE VIII
Submitters are obliged to follow the instructions for the delivery of copies of selected films. The instructions will be enclosed in a letter confirming a film’s selection for the program. Submitters will send copies of the selected films in the requested format immediately after receiving detailed instructions from the Festival organisers. Films selected for competitive and non-competitive sections will be screened without entitlement to screening fees.

A submitter authorises o.z. ANČA to include the film on an online platform (with prior agreement on time limit and territory) if the event or part of the event has to be held online.

During the Festival, teasers of selected films will be screened at the festival venue, in TV spots promoting Fest Anča, on the website of the Festival, on social media platforms and in multimedia presentations during the festival.

Fest Anča reserves the right to use film stills in promotional materials (festival catalogue, festival journal, leaflets, posters, billboards, website, and multimedia presentations), and provide them to the media for the purpose of disseminating information about the Festival.

ARTICLE X
By submitting a film a submitter agrees that in the case of winning an award or a special mention, the film will be screened as part of the Best of Fest Anča Program, without screening fees or royalties. The Best of Fest Anča Program will screen the winning films within Slovakia, Czech Republic, and selected film festivals.

ARTICLE XI
The Festival organisers decide about guest invitations, and the Festival gives priority to filmmakers of selected competition films. A submitter whose film is selected for the programme (either competitive or non-competitive) will receive an accreditation for the festival. Travel expenses are dealt with individually, and are covered up to the amount determined by the Festival’s current financial circumstances. The Festival reserves the right to prioritize the travel and accommodation expenses of the authors of films selected for competition. Hospitality terms for invited guests of the Festival shall be arranged individually, and specified in their personal invitations by email.
