1. General Rules and Sections
The 1st edition of the PETRONILA. BURGOS FILM FESTIVAL is hereby announced. It will be held in Burgos, Spain, in February 2026.

The duration may not exceed 35 minutes (including credits).
All genres (fiction, animation, documentary, experimental) and original production formats are accepted, provided that the works address social themes in all their diversity and breadth.
Only Ibero-American productions may participate, and co-productions are permitted, provided that at least one Ibero-American country is included.
The works must be submitted by a person, organization, or company that holds the rights to them or legally represents them.
The person submitting works to the competition will be responsible for paying the royalties generated by their works.
2. online Registration and Fees
The registration period will open on April 29, 2025, and will close on September 15, 2025.
To participate in the festival, works must be submitted through the official platform:
www.festhome.com
The following registration fees are payable by participants:
Regular period: from April 29 to June 15: €3
Extended period: from June 16 to September 15: €6
For their works to be considered, participants must provide the platforms with viewing copies of their works in the original version. If the works are not in Spanish, they will be presented with subtitles in Spanish or, failing that, in english.
3. Selection
The Selection Committee, made up of professionals from the audiovisual arts world and the organization, will be responsible for selecting works for the different festival sections.
The organization will notify the contact person of the final selection by email.
If a work is selected, the organization will contact the representative to request all necessary materials.
The screening copy of the selected works will be sent within the timeframe and in the manner requested by the organization. In all cases, it will be sent online.
The screening format will be digital. The technical specifications are:

Copies of the selected films may be used in limited viewings by the Selection Committee and in the Festival awards screenings organized by the Festival, always for cultural and non-profit purposes, provided that the producers are notified of their use.
The selected films will be shown at the times and locations indicated in the program and on the website www.elcirculo.es, assuming that participants authorize these screenings upon registration for the Festival.
The organization will also cover the accommodation and subsistence costs of the representatives of the selected films in a single room, at least on the day of the screening.
Círculo Burgos Foundation / Petronila. The Burgos Film Festival will not cover or manage transportation.
By submitting a film and subsequently accepting these rules, the owners of the films selected to participate in competitive sections grant the Festival the right to screen said films—always for exclusively cultural and non-commercial purposes—during the year and a half following the Festival in various extraordinary events held outside of the official week, the purpose of which is to promote the festival.
