Rooyesh religious short film festival is an event organized to introduce the potentials of religious cinema in Iran and to help those filmmakers whose works foster religious teachings, ethics, hope and virtues. The festival will also generate motivation and bring hope to young filmmakers who are supposed to ensure a prosperous future for Iranian professional cinema.

General Rules


- Review of remarkable movies that have religious or faith-related contents.

- All the movies to be shown in this category must be produced after 2010.

- All natural and legal people can send as many movies as they wish to the secretariat of the film festival.

- After the movie is given to the secretariat, it will be impossible to remove it from the festival.

- All the movies that are accepted to the competition part of the festival, will receive a participation certificate.

- The list of jury members will be made by the artistic secretary. It will be presented to the manager of the festival for confirmation.

- Requests with incomplete documents or damaged films will be rejected.

- The DVDs presented to the secretariat will be given to the Library of Filmmakers for research purposes in the future.

- Each category will have only one winner.

- All the copyright or publicity responsibilities due to the information provided by applicants will fall on the signers of the application forms.

- The movies that do not meet the standards of the festival will be removed.

- Interpretation of the regulations and final judgment about unpredicted issues will be made by the secretariat of the festival.

Special Shows (international)
Movies with the following features will be qualified to be shown in this category:
- Review of a country's religious short films during the first decade of the 21st century.
- Honoring a filmmaker who has raised religious or faith-related points in his / her works.

Calendar of the Festival
- Time limit for sending movies: December 31, 2014
- Announcement about accepted movies: January 31, 2015
- Festival period: February 24 – 27, 2015
