The Oruro International Film Festival is headquartered in the city of Oruro, in the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

The city is known for its rich culture and folklore, its most prominent expression being the Carnival of Oruro, which attracts thousands of national and international visitors each year. In 2001, it was declared a "Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO, recognizing its multicultural and religious significance.

The Festival, whose twelfth edition will be held from November 16 to 21, 2026, aims to recognize and promote Bolivian and international films that demonstrate strong artistic, aesthetic, and humanistic values.

The 12th Oruro International Film Festival (OFF) will take place from November 16 to 21, 2026, in the city of Oruro, Plurinational State of Bolivia.

REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY

The Festival's call for entries is open to short and feature-length fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films from around the world.

All productions must have been completed after January 1, 2024.

Films must be submitted through the Festhome platform.

Deadline: The rights holder must register the film with the Festival before September 24, 2026.

Registration through the Festival's official platforms constitutes a sworn statement, declaring that the applicant knows and accepts these regulations.

No film will be officially registered until the Festival receives the online pre-selection copy.

For films in languages ​​other than Spanish, pre-selection copies with Spanish (preferably) or English subtitles will be accepted.

Once selected, a film cannot be withdrawn from the Festival program, nor can it be screened anywhere else in Bolivia before its official presentation at our Festival.

Premiere Status
For feature films in competition, the Festival only accepts films that are premieres in the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

Any foreign film that has been publicly screened in cinemas, on television, via streaming, or at festivals in Bolivia before the start of the Oruro International Film Festival is ineligible to participate in the feature film competitions.

The Festival requires premiere status in Bolivia, even for short films.

SECTIONS

The Festival program will include competitive and non-competitive sections. Films will be placed in the section that the selection committee deems appropriate.

Film length will be considered for selection: The festival defines a feature film as having a minimum duration of 41 minutes and a short film as having a maximum duration of 40 minutes.

The Festival will include three competitive sections:

- International Short Film Competition: National and international fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films of 40 minutes or less are accepted.

- International Feature Film Competition: National and international fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films of 41 minutes or more are accepted.

- Bolivian Feature Film Competition: Fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films made by Bolivian filmmakers and/or producers with a duration of 41 minutes or more are accepted.

*The selection committee may modify the Festival structure, but the three main awards will always be presented: Best International Feature Film, Best Bolivian Feature Film, and Best International Short Film.

SELECTION

The Selection Committee will be comprised of OFF members, who will carry out their work according to the quality and creativity parameters previously established by the Festival Management.

Screening copies will be submitted via the internet. The deadline for receiving these copies is October 16, 2026.

If the film is selected, the person who registered will be notified and provided with instructions for submitting the screening copy through the Festival's official platforms.

Along with the screener, selected participants must upload the following materials to our official platforms:
- Two (2) stills from the film, 300 DPI. Size: 10cm high x 15cm wide, color. JPG format.
- One (1) photo of the director(s), 300 DPI. Size: 10cm high x 10cm wide, color. JPG format.
- A bio-filmography of the director, maximum 450 characters including spaces. In the following format: NAME, + 450 characters
- Film Synopsis (maximum 600 characters including spaces)

SUBTITLES

For selected films in languages ​​other than Spanish, producers are responsible for providing the organization with a copy with embedded Spanish subtitles or an .srt file containing Spanish subtitles with their respective timecode matching the film's projection copy.

FINAL CLAUSES

The festival organizers assume that the producers or filmmakers who register through this call for entries hold the exhibition rights for their works, thereby exempting OFF from any civil or criminal liability.

Those associated with the selected films agree not to publicize their participation until the Festival program is announced by the organizers at a press conference.

Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations. Any conflict (organizational or operational) not foreseen in these regulations will be resolved by the Festival organizers.

Submission of films implies full acceptance of these rules. Their interpretation and application are the responsibility of the OFF organizers.



  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
