Festival start: 11 November 2025      Festival end: 13 November 2025

The International Festival of Design and Animation is organized by the School of Design at the University of Valparaíso, Chile, and will take place on November 11, 12, and 13, 2025.

FIDA is a non-profit event organized by a public university, and starting this year, it is supported by important educational institutions from the Valparaíso Region: Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Universidad de Playa Ancha (UPLA), Universidad Viña del Mar, and DUOC UC.

This year, 2025, marks the 16th edition of the Festival. We invite students from across Latin America to submit their animated short films inspired by territorial or local themes, which may include social issues, culturally significant stories, Indigenous peoples, traditions, and more.

FIDA recognizes and awards the narrative value of the story, visual creativity, and the work’s commitment to Latin American identity.

We invite you to submit your animated short films of up to 2 minutes to the 16th International Festival of Design and Animation – FIDA 2025

Official recognition awards granted by the organizing institution.
