The Luz del Desierto International Festival is an audiovisual Festival that aims to promote cinema within the country and abroad. The festival will take place in october with competition for feature films and short films, both fiction, animation and documentary. There will also be talks and workshops.

1. - LUZ DEL DESIERTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL


This Festival aims to promote culture and film production both in the country and in the world.


2. - DATE OF THE FESTIVAL:


It will be held from 26 to 29 of september, 2024.


3. - PLACE:


Buenos Aires, Argentina


4. - CATEGORIES OF THE COMPETITION


Feature Film: Official competition for fiction, documentary or experimental works in Argentinean and foreign feature films with a minimum duration of 60 minutes.

Short Film: Official competition for Argentine and foreign works in any genre, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes including credits.



5. - GENERAL CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION


a) Works completed within the period January 2022 to 2024 inclusive are eligible to participate. There will be a pre-selection of the works submitted.

b) Registration for the festival will be made through the Festhome platform.

c) Once the work has been pre-selected, the owner must submit a copy in Hd format in the best possible quality for its exhibition at the festival.


6. - JURY


a) The jury will be composed of personalities of the audiovisual media, arts and national and/or international culture.

b) Persons who are directly related to the works in competition will be disqualified from being part of the jury.

c) The jury's decision is final.


7. - awards


The Festival will award the following prizes:

- Best National and International Feature Film Award.

- Best National and International Short Film Award.

- 2 Jury Mentions in each category.


8. - SHIPMENT OF COPIES


a) The cost of shipping the films will be the responsibility of the entrant.


9. - INSURANCE OF THE COPIES


a) The Festival is not responsible for any damage or loss occurring during the transportation of the copies.

b) In case of serious damage or loss during the contest and while in the possession of the organization, the organization will be responsible for the replacement cost of the copy, in the same format and quality of the copy received, as long as this situation is notified in a reliable manner by the interested party during the event.


10. - NON-COMPLIANCE WITH REQUIREMENTS


Works received that do not comply with the general conditions of participation and the pre-selection requirements will not be registered.

11. - ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS - ASSIGNMENT OF RIGHTS


The registration in the Luz del Desierto International Film Festival implies the acceptance of these terms and conditions and the assignment of the screening rights of the material submitted for the purpose of disseminating this edition, as well as future editions from the date of selection of the material.

Likewise, together with the signature of these terms and conditions, the owner(s) of the work accept(s) to transfer the rights of projection and reproduction of the same for the purpose of its exhibition in the Luz del Desierto International Film Festival (in the national territory or abroad) as well as for its advertising diffusion.


12. - RIGHTS OF THE PARTICIPATING WORKS


1) The participants declare that they are the only and real owners of the audiovisual works submitted to the festival, both in case of being the author and the assignee of the same. In case of falseness in the affidavit, because they are not the owners of the same, the responsibility for any third party claim will be exclusively of the participant who submits the work, without the Festival being liable to any third party.

2) The participants declare that they have all the rights involved in the work.

3) The participants declare to hold harmless the Luz del Desierto International Film Festival for any claim regarding the ownership of the work and/or lack of authorization regarding the rights contained therein.


13. - MODIFICATIONS


The terms and conditions may be modified without prior notice.
