mujerDOC - IX INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL ON GENDER, organized by the NGO Mujeres del Mundo and the Soria City Council, is a documentary screening platform created to contribute eliminating gender stereotypes and highlighting women's role in regional development.

The submitted works must address themes related to demands for equality and the feminist agenda. Documentaries must be produced after January 1st, 2023. There is no minimum or maximum length limit. They must be subtitled in Spanish and/or English. If a version with Spanish subtitles is not available, it is required to send a version with English subtitles and the SRT dialogue list in English.

The festival will take place in March 2026 in Soria (Spain). Should exceptional circumstances prevent the festival from taking place on these dates, sufficient advance notice will be given through social media and other media outlets.

The festival, through a Committee, will select the films that will be part of a single Official Section, with the following prizes:

- Women's Award: 3,000 euros (works with a female director will be eligible for this award)

- Long Film Award: 2,000 euros (for 60 minutes or more)

- Short Film Award: 1,000 euros (until 59 minutes)

- CIMA Award for Best Female Filmmaker (trophy and one year as a member of the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media of Spain).

Cash Prizes: 6,000€

The festival, through a Committee, will select films to be part of an Official Section, with the following prizes:

- Woman Award: 3,000 euros (for this award, only films in which the director is a woman will be eligible)

- Long Film Award: 2,000 euros (from 60 minutes)

- Short Film Award: 1,000 euros (up to 59 minutes)

- CIMA Award for the best filmmaker (statuette and one year as a member of the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media).

* Each selected film will receive 150 euros for the total exhibition at the Festival, covering a maximum of 4 screenings in the Cinema in Soria or in Festival windows in other cities around the world.

* The selected films will also participate, if they wish, in the online edition of the contest, through the online cinema platform Filmin. The films can be seen on Filmin during the official festival dates. The benefits obtained will be distributed as follows: 60% for participating documentary films, 40% for Filmin.

TERMS FOR mujerDOC - IX INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL ON GENDER

1. mujerDOC - IX INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL ON GENDER, organized by the NGO Mujeres del Mundo and the Soria City Council, is a documentary screening platform created to contribute eliminating gender stereotypes and highlighting women's role in regional development.

2. The submitted works must address themes related to demands for equality and the feminist agenda. Documentaries must be produced after January 1st, 2023. 3. Participation in the Festival is open to all individuals or groups, regardless of nationality or residence. Each participant can submit more than one work; it is not necessary for it to be unpublished and the film could have won awards at other festivals. It is essential to hold the exhibition rights for the film in Spain.

4. Registration must be formalized through the FESTHOME platform.

Registration requires providing information about the film (technical information, country and year of production, synopsis) and a permanent download link with no expiration date (so that it can be viewed online by the Selection Committee after the registration deadline). The registration fees listed on these platforms will be used to cover the Festival's management, exhibition, screening, and promotion costs.

5. The film submission deadlines are on the registration platforms, from July 15th to October 31st, 2025.

6. The festival will take place in March 2026 in Soria (Spain). Should exceptional circumstances prevent the festival from taking place on these dates, sufficient advance notice will be given through social media and other media outlets.

8. Each selected film will receive 150 euros for its total screening at the Festival, covering a maximum of four screenings at the Soria Cinema or at Festival windows in other cities around the world.

9. Selected films must send a high-quality digital copy to be screened up to four times at the Soria Cinema or at MUJERDOC windows in other cities around the world.

10. Selected films may also participate, if they wish, in the online edition of the festival, through the online film platform Filmin. The films will be available to view on Filmin during the dates determined by the festival. The profits obtained will be distributed as follows: 60% for the participating documentaries, 40% for Filmin.

11. By participating in the festival, you are authorized to freely reproduce images and inserts (maximum 3 minutes) from the film for press, print or digital publications, social media, television broadcasts, etc.

12. The organization reserves the right to modify any point of these rules if circumstances require it, which will be communicated in a timely manner.

13. Participation in this Competition implies acceptance of its rules.
