One-minute short film festival that aims to promote awareness and social commitment, using audiovisual language.

It is a citizen participation tool, where participants express their point of view on the great challenges we face, such as hunger, poverty, climate change or the defense of Human Rights.

1st Prize:


The winning person will travel with the director Fernando Martín, to a Latin American country where Manos Unidas supports development projects to shoot their own short documentary, not a corporate video of the NGO. The conditions of the trip are included in the Bases of the Festival.

2nd Prize:
The author or author of the second best clip will enjoy an EOS 2000D camera and an EF-S 18-55 DC lens to develop its full potential.

3rd Prize:
The author or author of the third best clip will enjoy a PS ZOOM BK Essential KIT camera to let her creativity fly and enjoy a high quality digital camera.

Most Voted by the Public Award:
The author of the most voted clip will receive a €100 gift card from Manos Unidas so that she can improve her audiovisual equipment.


I. Call and object of the contest

Raise awareness about the great challenges that we face in the world, such as hunger, poverty, injustice, inequalities, climate change or the defense of Human Rights, through an educational action for global citizenship, based on audiovisual communication.

These bases will be available on the website www.clipmetrajesmanosunidas.org

Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of these rules.

II. Requirements to participate

• Be of legal age.
• You can present as many clips as you want.
• The clips are presented individually, several people may participate in the making of a clip, but only one of them will register as they are individual awards.

III. Clip Film Requirements

• They must be original and unpublished and have not been previously awarded in any other contest.

• They must be presented in Spanish or subtitled in Spanish.

• They can be fiction, animation or documentary and must deal with the theme of the XIV edition of the Clip Film Festival: Persona is also written with A, for Food and Water.

We want to reflect on the impact that our individual actions, such as more responsible consumption or the fight against food waste, have on universal access to water and food.

The participants will make visible, with their one-minute video, their commitment to achieving the SDGs, showing examples of how to sustainably manage food and water.

Videos that deal with different themes will not be accepted.

• All participating clips must include the start and end posters of the festival. The maximum duration of the clips is 1 minute and 10 seconds counting the banners.

Videos that do not meet these requirements will not be published.

• Videos that have advertising content, content that does not respect Copyright rights, or those in which intellectual property rights are violated, will not be accepted, unless they are authorized to do so, or that do not respect the Code of Conduct of NGDOs especially regarding communication guidelines, advertising and use of images.

• They can be recorded with any device: mobile, tablet, video camera, photo camera, etc.

• The clips are published on Youtube, so they must be sent in a format compatible with the platform. We recommend the MP4 container, using an H.264 video codec and a 16:9 resolution of 1920x1080 or higher. The recommended audio codec is AAC-LC. Other YouTube supported formats are also accepted with a recommended resolution of 1280x720.

• It is not allowed to submit videos with racist, sexist, violent or pornographic content to the contest.

• The organization has the right to decide if the proposals submitted conform to the proposed themes and spirit and, otherwise, not to accept them or eliminate them if they have already been posted on the web of clip films. The decision will be final.

IV. Management of the clips

This Festival will use the YouTube platform for the dissemination and storage of the participating videos.

Therefore, participation in it implies acceptance of the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the YouTube Community Rules.

V. Registration

• Complete the registration form that appears on the website: www.clipmetrajesmanosunidas.org.
• Check that the video/s meet the contest requirements (section III).
• Upload the video to www.clipmetrajesmanosunidas.org giving it a meaningful title.
• Registration is free.

You can register and send your videos through the website www.clipmetrajesmanosunidas.org from October 17, 2022 to May 4, 2023.

VII. Jury and prizes

The National Jury will be made up of experts from the audiovisual world, cooperation and education, its composition will be published on the web: www.clipmetrajesmanosunidas.org and its decisions are final, and cannot be appealed in any case.

The finalists of the General Category chosen by the National Jury will be published on the web: www.clipmetrajesmanosunidas.org

The winners of the award for the Most Voted Clip Film by the public will be chosen by Internet users, through the voting system integrated into the Festival's own website, from among all the clip films submitted. The deadline to vote is set on May 25, 2023 at 11 a.m.

The Organization reserves the right to withdraw the videos with the most votes by the public that do not conform to the theme of the contest, infringe intellectual property rights or, to achieve a greater number of votes, use irregular applications, websites or systems with bots that automatically generate votes, even though they have reached that stage and accumulate a significant number of votes.

The prizes of the Jury and that of the public, may fall on the same or the same clip films.

In the event of a tie in the voting by the National Jury, the Clip Film Festival Organization reserves the full right to break the tie and choose who will ultimately be the awarded Clip Films.

The winners will be announced at the XIV Clipmetrajes Festival Awards Ceremony and the list of winners will be published later on the website www.clipmetrajesmanosunidas.org
The prizes will be collected by the winners, personally or through representation, at said Gala.
The prizes can be consulted on the website www.clipmetrajesmanosunidas.org and cannot be exchanged for their cash value.

The winner of the first prize awarded by the National Jury will travel, with all expenses covered, to a Latin American country where Manos Unidas supports development projects to shoot their own short documentary, not a corporate video of the NGO. The winner will be accompanied by a professional from the audiovisual world who will supervise the filming and by the person/s from Manos Unidas responsible for that country.

The winning person must adhere to the dates and conditions set by the Organization and in no case may they remain alone for more days in the country of destination. In the same way, she will not be able to travel accompanied by any other person/s from her immediate environment (family, couples, friends...) even if they assume all the economic expenses of the trip.
If, for any reason, the winner cannot enjoy the prize, they may not transfer it to a third party who has not participated in the production of the winning clip.

The organization can cancel the trip or modify its destination based on health, safety, weather and logistics criteria. In the event of cancellation, an alternative prize will be sought.

VIII. Rights to the videos and image rights at the awards ceremony

The author(s) of the video guarantee that they have obtained, prior to the recording of the video, authorization from the legal guardians, if minors appear, as well as authorization from the persons of legal age who participate in it, allowing the accommodation and viewing of the video. video through the YouTube platform and through the Manos Unidas web pages or any other video display that may occur as a result of participation in the contest.

In addition to the above, they must obtain the corresponding intellectual property rights in relation to the actions of the people who participate in the video and also guarantee that they are/are the owner/s of all the intellectual property rights that arise as a result of the recording and exploitation of the video, as well as all intellectual and industrial property rights that exist on the elements or works used or that are part of the video (by way of example and not limitation, music, images, trademarks, patents, etc. ). Participation in this contest implies the assignment to Manos Unidas of the intellectual property rights derived from the videos submitted to the contest. In this sense, Manos Unidas may exploit the videos in the widest possible way, in any modality and under any format, expressly holding the rights of reproduction (total or partial, by any means and in any form, permanent or temporary), distribution, transformation (which will include translation, adaptation or any other modality) and public communication on the video including, by way of example and not limitation, audiovisual exploitation by analogue, digital, satellite, Internet, mobile telephony, as well as any other modality of exploitation through the means of communication currently used and available on the market.

This assignment will be made free of charge, non-exclusively, for the entire world territory, and for the maximum duration allowed by the Intellectual Property Law.

Manos Unidas is not responsible for the use that could be made by third parties of the photographs taken by people outside the organization who attend the awards ceremony, nor for the reproduction, publication, public communication, transformation or any other type of use that can be done with them. In these cases, it will be the third party who responds to any judicial or extrajudicial claim that may arise.
