GENERAL RULES OFFICIAL COMPETITION SECTION
PARTICIPANTS
Participation is open to all film producers and directors who submit their short films, whether nationally or internationally produced.
REQUIREMENTS FOR AUDIOVISUAL WORKS
Feature films: fiction, animation, or documentary with a running time of over 60 minutes.
Short films: fiction, animation, or documentary with a running time of less than 30 minutes.
Works must be submitted in their original version (with Spanish subtitles, if applicable). Works filmed in other languages that are not submitted with Spanish subtitles will be excluded.
Works must have been produced after January 1, 2025. Each author may participate with a maximum of one work. Authors are responsible for the rights to their works.
DATES AND VENUE
The festival will take place from February 25, 2027, to March 20, 2027.
All festival activities and screenings will be held at the "Pintor Fausto Velázquez" Cultural Center in La Algaba (Seville).
SELECTION PROCESS. REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION OF COPIES FOR THE PRE-SELECTION PROCESS
Projects wishing to participate in this call for entries must be submitted between September 1, 2026, and January 31, 2027.
Registration can be completed through the Festhome platform.
Feature film projects will have a registration fee of €5.
Short film projects will have a registration fee of €3.
The selected projects will be announced during the week of February 10, 2027. No publication or communication of any kind is permitted in any medium until the organization publishes the official list of selected projects. Failure to comply may result in the project's removal from the selection.
Screening copies, along with the corresponding promotional materials, will be requested in the notification email if your project is selected.
SELECTION COMMITTEE AND JURY
From among the applications received, a Selection Committee, comprised of technical staff from the Festival, will select the works that will compete in the Official Competition.
The Official Jury, composed of at least three members from among professionals of recognized prestige in the various sectors of the film industry, will decide the final awards. Its decisions will be final.
REGARDING RIGHTS
Participants must hold the distribution and broadcasting rights for their work (and provide proof of ownership if required), including the soundtrack and image rights of any individuals appearing in the film, thereby releasing the festival organizers from any liability arising from third-party claims in this regard.
Short films that win a cash prize will grant, on a non-exclusive basis, the right to use their work for promotional purposes related to the festival.
AUDIENCE AWARD
The audience will award the Audience Award for Best Feature Film and Best Short Film through their votes.

* The corresponding tax withholding will be deducted from this amount.
Award recipients must comply with the provisions of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and must be up-to-date with all tax and Social Security obligations.
All selected projects will receive a screening fee of:
- €20 for short films
- €50 for feature films
WRITTEN REFERENCE OF AWARDS GIVEN
Selected short films that receive any of the Festival Awards will include a written reference at the beginning of all copies distributed for exhibition in commercial theaters and/or other venues. audiovisual competitions, as well as all informational materials. This reference will consist of a text indicating the type of award granted or the selection for the competition, invariably accompanied by the corporate image (logo and name) of the "Igualgaba" Film Competition, which will be provided by the Organization.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Submission of any work to the "Igualgaba" Film Competition implies acceptance of these Rules, as well as the resolution by the Organization of any issues not covered herein.
