KinoToy Cinema Artesanal invites you to participate in the second edition of KinoToy Fest - KinoToy International Short Film Festival, whose mission is to promote the talent and creativity of emerging and established filmmakers.
Short films produced from 2023 onwards, up to 20 min long, may be submitted in the categories Fiction, Animation, Documentary, Student and Music Video (Fall of Passion award).
There will be trophies for the winning films and for the best script, direction, photography, editing, acting and soundtrack. The winning films may receive cash prizes of up to BRL 2.5 thousand.
The screening and award ceremony for the winning films will be held on 11/07/2026, at Cine Brasília (Brasília/DF). Afterwards, a cocktail will be offered in the foyer to the participants.
The festival will invite participants to have their film screened in several small towns of Brazil at the I KinoToy Short Film Itinerant Exhibition, throughout 2027.

Cash Prizes: 2,077$

Fiction, Animation and Documentary categories:

• Trophy and BRL 2,000.00 for the best film in each category, elected by the festival’s panel of judges;

• Trophy and BRL 500.00 for the best film in each category, elected by the public;

• Trophy for best script, direction, photography, editing, acting and soundtrack.

Films selected to be elected by the public will be made available online from October 10 to November 10, 2026.

In a specific field of the registration form, participants who do not wish to publicize the film on the internet may request to compete only for the award of their respective main category, with evaluation by the panel of judges.

Student category:

• Trophy and BRL 1,000.00 for the best film, elected by the public.

All films subscribed in the Student Category will be made available online from October 10 to November 10, 2026, to be elected by the public.

Fall of Passion award:

• Trophee FALL OF PASSION – Best Music Video Award and BRL 2,000.00 for the best music video, elected by John F. and Rodrigo Mazutti.

1.The festival is open to films produced not earlier than January/2023, by Brazilian or foreign individuals and legal entities.

Films must comply with the following prerequisites:

• Up to 20 minutes duration, including credits;

• Closed Captions (CC) in Portuguese and English, in .str format.

Films ineligible for the competition:

• Films produced by KinoToy Cinema Artesanal;

• Films authored by or involving members of the festival board and/or the panel of judges.

2.Categories:

• Fiction, Animation, Documentary and Student* categories.

(*) Student Category: films whose key crew members were students at the time of production.

• Fall of Passion** Award: Music Video.

(**) Fall of Passion is a British art music project, conceived by composer John F. It is an initiative focused on creating immersive and unique music, without the limitations of commercial influences or industry pressures, resulting in compositions that break with standard practices.

Each film may only compete in one category.

3. Awards:

4. Festival Schedule:

• May/20 to September/30/2026: submission period;

• October/10/2026: announcement of selected films;

• October/10 to 20/2026: films disclosure in digital media for public voting;

• October/20/2026: announcement of main categories’ nominees;

• November/07/2026: awarding and screening of winning films at Cine Brasília.
