A short film festival that will take you by surprise. Cross the green carpet... Win the Brame du Cerf! - Submit your short film of 15 minutes maximum. The theme "Metamorphoses", Propose fictions, documentaries, animations, the subject of which provides a look at all forms of initiatives and actions that everyone, as a citizen, or organization can undertake to contribute to make our societies more sustainable, in terms of the environment and also living together.

The Chevreuse Valley Film Festival is a short film competition organized by the ALC. The 2025 theme of films to be presented at the FFVC is “METAMORPHOSES”.

A selection of around 20 films will be publicly broadcast during a screening at the FFVC on October 18, 2025. The finalists will be able to win one of the following prizes: Screenplay Prize, Directing Prize, Animation Prize, Female Actor Prize, Best Actor Prize, Male Interpretation, Audience Prize, Jury Prize (“Brâme du Cerf”), Youth Prize.

COMPETITION RULES

Chevreuse Valley Film Festival
4th Edition – 18/10/2025

ARTICLE 1: ORGANIZER, DATES AND THEME OF THE COMPETITION

The Association Loisirs Culture de Chevreuse (ALC), with registered office at 45 bis rue de Rambouillet – 78460 Chevreuse (hereinafter “the Organizer”), is holding, from 18/05/2025 to 18/10/2025, a High Definition video creation competition entitled “Chevreuse Valley Film Festival”, via the website www.festivaldufilmdelavalleedechevreuse.com (hereinafter the “Website”), and shared on major community platforms (hereinafter the “Competition”).

ARTICLE 2: PURPOSE AND REGISTRATION

2.1 Acceptance of the Rules
Participation in the Competition implies full and unconditional acceptance of these rules, of Internet codes of conduct (netiquette, charters of good practice, etc.), as well as of the applicable laws and regulations in France. Any dispute regarding interpretation shall be finally settled by the Organizer.

2.2 Eligible Participants

Open to individuals residing in mainland France.

Persons involved in developing the Competition may only participate in the “Out of Competition” category.

Minors must provide parental authorization before registering. This authorization may be required before awarding any prize.

2.3 Registration Procedure

Registration exclusively through the Website, between 18/05/2025 and 18/10/2025 at midnight.

The server timestamp is authoritative.

No other method of participation (e.g., by post) will be accepted.

2.4 Validity of Registration

Information provided in the form serves as proof of identity.

The participant must complete all required fields in good faith.

Any incorrect, incomplete, falsified, or non-compliant registration will be invalid.

ARTICLE 3: PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION

3.1 Eligible Videos

Each main director is identified by name, surname, and address.

Use of a pseudonym for public release is allowed.

Unlimited number of video submissions per participant.

Mandatory theme: “METAMORPHOSES”.

Maximum duration: 15 minutes (with a one-second tolerance).

Format: High Definition (1920x1080, 1080p).

Recommended frame rate: 24 fps.

Recommended codecs: ProRes HD HQ 422, 4444, or XQ in .mov.

A French version or French subtitles is mandatory.

3.2 Participant Warranties
The participant guarantees:

The originality of the work and ownership of all rights (image, sound, music, etc.).

Authorization from third parties involved in the work.

Compliance of the content with applicable laws.

3.3 Exclusions
Any video:

Not meeting technical requirements,

Containing illegal elements (pornography, incitement to hatred, plagiarism, etc.),

Infringing third-party rights or damaging the reputation of the Festival,
will be excluded from the Competition.

3.4 Fraud and Misconduct
Any attempt at fraud, tampering with the Competition, or violation of the rules will result in immediate disqualification.

ARTICLE 4: EVIDENCE AGREEMENT

Data stored in the Organizer’s IT systems shall be considered valid evidence for entries and connections.

ARTICLE 5: PRIZES AND WINNERS

5.1 Selection

Around 20 films will be publicly screened on 18 October 2025.

Selection will be made by a committee of audiovisual professionals and ALC members.

5.2 Awards (8 in total)

Best Actress

Best Actor

Youth Prize

Best Animated Film

Jury Prize

Audience Award (“Stag’s Call”)

A participant may not receive more than two awards.

Jury decisions are final and binding.

ARTICLE 6: AUDIENCE VOTE

Voting will take place exclusively on 18 October 2025.

Each voter may only vote once per film.

ARTICLE 7: DISPUTES

Registration implies full acceptance of these rules.

No claims will be considered after the Competition has ended.

This regulation is subject to French law. Any disputes will be settled by the competent court at the Organizer’s registered office.

ARTICLE 8: PERSONAL DATA

Data collected

Name, surname, postal address, email, date of birth, gender.

Parental email for minors.

Data controller

The Organizer is responsible for the processing of personal data.

Rights

Participants may access, rectify, or delete their data.

Complaints may be filed with the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority).

Retention

Data will not be kept beyond the period strictly necessary for the purposes of the Competition.

ARTICLE 9: LIABILITY

The Organizer shall not be held responsible for:

Malfunctions of the Internet network,

Fraud, intrusions, or technical failures,

Delays or data loss caused by Internet congestion or access issues.

ARTICLE 10: PARTICIPATION FEES

Entry fee: €10.

Youth Prize category: €5.

Transport, meals, and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the participant.

No refunds will be made for invalid participation.
